Having regretted her decision to cut her chin-length hair, a woman has developed a routine to encourage rapid growth.
She confessed that it involved the use of an ingredient that many beauty enthusiasts warned against applying to tresses.
She shared a photo of her now waist-length hair and a photo of how short it was before on Reddit’s Long Hair forum, which has more than 501,000 members.
LONG LOCKS
She revealed that it has been six years since she made the “worst decision” of her life by getting a dramatic haircut.
She said that without her long hair she didn’t feel like herself.
The Redditor’s dyed black hair looked healthy in the recent photo, as she revealed that growing up was a journey.
“A few botched cuts along the way… and having to learn how to rock my natural hair without any heat styling,” she said, writing under the handle Student work.
“Hair care routine: shampoo/conditioner twice a week (I love sulfates haha), Ouidad Moisture Lock on ends, dry with cotton t-shirt then air dry, Davines Oi Oil every night.”
According to Health lineSulfates help remove dirt and oil from locks, but the ingredient can “irritate” sensitive skin.
Some people worry that daily exposure to sulfates in shampoo can harm their health and damage certain types of hair.

Many beauty fans prefer to use a sulfate-free shampoo to avoid potential problems.
The Redditor added that their hair is trimmed by a professional hairdresser every four to six months.
“I’m lucky because my hair grows extremely quickly — but I noticed a huge difference in growth and health when I stopped heat styling after every wash,” she said.
More than 2,000 people upvoted the post and many took to the comments section gushing over her braids.
“Wow, stunning hair.. jealous!! Congratulations.. also the bob cut made me laugh.. it happened to the best of us!” one person said.
“Your hair is GORGGGGG. I just cut mine and I’m regretting everything!! another said.
“What’s your styling routine like, please? These final layered curls look beautiful,” commented a third.
“Thanks! This was after my hairdresser styled it, but I do the same at home every now and then,” the Redditor responded.
“I simply straighten my hair and curl just the ends, put my front pieces in rollers, and then add hairspray and hair oil to add shine.”
