The secret to good skin is a generational thing in a beauty lover’s family.

They shared how their mother and aunts look decades younger due to a cultural anti-aging secret.

In an already deleted publishone Redditor shared the traditional item that has helped them go back in time – or at least seem like it.

“In my Asian culture, bone broth is a staple,” they said.

“My entire family makes bone broth soup every week and has been doing so for as long as they’ve been alive,” they added.

All they knew was that several family members were deceiving others with their real ages.

“There has to be something there because each of my aunts and my mother have amazing skin,” they said.

“My mom is in her 70s but looks like she’s 50. I have an aunt who’s almost 95 and she looks like she’s 70,” they continued.

They even avoid a product known to help aging-prone skin.

“Also, they never use sunscreen – ever – lots of chemicals, etc.,” they said.

“It could be genetics, but I think bone broth definitely helps.”

Other users were so impressed that they wanted to know more about the age throwback recipe.

‘The best there is for age wrinkles,’ scream Amazon shoppers who buy $19 night cream that makes skin ‘dramatically smoother’

“That’s amazing! Do they make it from scratch? Or do they make it from a box?” asked one Redditor.

“Yes, from scratch. It’s a whole process that takes around three hours from start to finish”, they responded.

“Would you like to connect and share some tips or the recipe?” another user asked.

“Lol, I wish! Over the years, people have asked me too and I only get half the recipe – the easy part,” they replied.

“But the other half – what I call the ‘herbs and bits’ – is the hard part,” they continued.

  • Keep your skin hydrated internally by drinking water and externally with moisturizer.
  • Always use sunscreen, even if you are not in direct sunlight.
  • Use Vitamin C to brighten your skin and don’t forget to apply it to your neck.

“Depending on the soup you want to make – for blood, for health, for sleep, for coughs, for the immune system, for the skin, etc., then there are different ‘herbs and pieces’ that are put in the soup to boil.

“All these ‘herbs and bits’ are dried stuff (looks like ocean stuff?) that my mom buys at the supermarket/Chinese grocery store.”

It seemed like some of this skincare magic was still top secret.

“I also tried looking at the packaging and each one, although there are different things inside the packaging, has the same label – either ‘seafood’ or some kind of Chinese writing,” they said.

“When I ask my mom to translate, she says ‘Oh, it’s (Chinese name), but the writing says ‘seafood,’” they added.

“I’m pretty sure some of the things she puts in there are dried goji berries, almonds, and dried scallops, but there’s a bunch of other stuff I don’t recognize. That doesn’t help at all, I’m sorry.”

They may not know exactly all the ingredients your family uses, but if you want to start with at least one item, Amazon sells a bag of Navitas Organic Goji Berries for $11.88.

The brand described how these specific fruits have been used in ancient Chinese medicine to support longevity for thousands of years.
