A PLUS-SIZE fashionista was brutally advised to shell out for surgery to get rid of her “apron belly”.
Style-loving Lindsey, who is a size 22/24, has a medical condition known as “apron belly,” also known as pannus stomach.
The term is used to describe a sagging of the stomach or skin that hangs over the abdominal region, which usually – but not always – occurs after pregnancy or weight changes.
While having a pannus stomach isn’t exclusive to plus-sized people, this condition can cause discomfort and even lead to skin infections.
Lindsey, who regularly shares fashion-related content with her 228,000 fans on TikTok, is just one of many body positivity influencers who are raising awareness about the “mom apron.”
But despite the positive message and call for change, the dark-haired beauty was recently brutally trolled on her page after sharing a clip of herself trying on different jeans.
The video I saw the style lover talk a little about her figure, describing her thighs as “very thin”, as well as having absolutely “no ass”.
“Finding jeans is one of the hardest things to do when you have this body shape,” Lindsey said before modeling some of her favorite jeans.
They ranged from trendy baggy jeans to skinny jeans, as well as black jeans with frayed hems and a wide-legged khaki number.
However, although the influencer looked fabulous, some of the comments on the platform were anything but kind.
One person wondered if Lindsey had ever considered surgery, writing, “They do surgery for us pinafore belly girls. Have you already investigated this?
”I forget what your name is, but I think you would be a candidate. and is covered by insurance.
Another wondered: ”So does your apron belly go away if you lose weight or does it just stay like that even if you lose weight?”
A third commented: ”Have you already tried to have the operation on insurance, because I have seen many cases where the apron belly caused infections due to its size.
Luckily for the plus-size fashionista, who has been compared to Monsters Inc.’s Mike Wazowski, the comments have been mostly positive, with fans rushing to show support.
”As someone with a stomach and super short legs, I rarely wear jeans! I’m going to check out these brands,” a fellow style enthusiast thanked Lindsey for her purchase.
“Love your confidence! ”Another person chimed in, adding a love heart at the end of the comment.
