AN aesthetics expert has shared a cheap technique that instantly smoothes skin and wrinkles.
The skincare trick, she added, leaves skin more radiant and reduces the appearance of fine lines.
Jordan Harpera certified nurse, touted the anti-aging benefits of dermaplaning and oilplaning.
Dermaplaning is a cosmetic treatment in which dead skin cells and peach fuzz are scraped off with a scalpel or shaved.
Oilplaning, or oil shaving, is a method that involves using an oil-based product and a facial razor to remove dead skin cells and peach fuzz from the face.
“Dermaplaning/oilplaning offers so many benefits!” Harper said.
“Eliminates dull skin cells and peach fuzz resulting in a smoother skin texture, increases the absorption of skincare products, reduces the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles, and provides a smoother canvas for makeup and SPF application.
“After shaving, your skin will be instantly smoother, more radiant and better prepared to absorb subsequent care.
Harper, creator of the skincare brand Barefootrevealed a common mistake she often sees in beginning dermaplaners.
“Shaving on dry skin! That’s why I created Perfectionista first-class women’s facial and shaving oil.

“No more shaving with dry skin and no more irritated, irritated skin after shaving. This luxurious oil is designed to serve as a shield, helping the razor glide with precision without harming the skin barrier.
“With its unique blend of soothing and hydrating ingredients to lock in moisture, Perfectionist also helps stabilize and strengthen newly exfoliated skin, long after you’re done.”
For those with active rashes, sunburn, cold sores, eczema or other rashes, the expert recommended waiting to shave until the skin condition improves.
Harper opts for the dermaplane at night, at least 30 minutes before bed, to avoid skin irritation.
“That way, you won’t put on makeup or hit the pillow right away. Make sure your pillowcase is clean too!” she said.
“Start by double cleansing your face and drying it completely. Use a toner like Toning pads or Toning pads II to ensure your pores are clean,” she advised.
After shaving, your skin will be instantly smoother, more radiant and better prepared to absorb subsequent care.

“Apply a dropper full of Perfectionist Facial Oil + Shaving Oil to your face.
“Pull the taught skin and shave at a 45-degree angle. If you’re new to dermaplaning or have sensitive skin, try making a downward motion with your hairline first, rather than against the grain.
“It’s safe to dermaplane everything from your neck and chin to your forehead.
‘After shaving, use a gentle toner or rinse with cool water to remove any dead skin and hair left behind. Don’t wipe again – you really want some perfectionist oil to remain on the skin.
Harper then applies a serum like the one from Barefaced Overestimator to avoid redness or irritation.
For those with sensitive skin, she recommended skipping the usual retinoid on your exfoliated face.
She finishes her shaving routine with a moisturizer to maintain all her hard work.
“Your hair will NOT grow thicker or darker! I recommend shaving weekly, but you can also shave monthly or only when you remember or have time to do it,” she added.
“Peach fuzz doesn’t come back any different depending on the time between. It’s just personal preference.”
