WALKING down the street, a gentleman stopped Sharola Head in her tracks.
“You are so beautiful,” he exclaimed.
For most women, it would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
But for Sharola, who moved from Fiji to Winslow, Bucks, in 2012, it’s a common occurrence.
“I am regularly told that I am beautiful and that I don’t look my age,” she said. “In fact – even though I turn 50 in October – I am still regularly identified for buying alcohol and going into pubs and clubs.
“It last happened when I went to celebrate a recent birthday with friends.”
Sharola also told how, stopped by a TV journalist, he interviewed her “simply to tell her how beautiful she was”.
“That’s the only reason he wanted to talk,” she said.

“And it’s not just men. I went to a hospice fundraiser and a young woman came up to me.
She said, ‘I just wanted to say there’s something about you that says ‘wow’.”
She was also stopped on a plane by an Australian woman who said “you are a real English beauty” – something she laughs off as she is not originally from the UK.
The mother of three, who was even stopped and asked for autographs at H&M’s Costco on separate occasions by people who thought she was Halle Berry, said she believes beauty is a byproduct of confidence.
“People tell me that when I walk into a room I liven up a boring atmosphere,” she said.
“It leads men to compliment me.
“This happens especially at events like Ascot, where very rich men want a pretty girlfriend.”
She added that men have “slipped into her DMs” on Instagram and Facebook
“Some are very rich, others are desperate for a partner,” she said.
But she is faithful to her husband of 11 years, whom she met in Fiji.
“He also looks 40 years old even though he is 67,” she said.
But unfortunately not everyone was kind.
“I felt jealous and some women think I’m after their men – I’m not,” the NHS worker said.
“But I have a group of friends who accept my appearance and are brilliant.”

Asked to describe her beauty regime that has kept her looking so youthful, she said. “I don’t buy expensive makeup or creams and lotions and I don’t have makeup days.
“I’m going through menopause, so I take multivitamins.
“But I would never wear joggers or hoodies. I would look like a scoundrel. A woman can be glamorous in anything – except jogging.”
