She revealed it cost “less than half the price” of getting her hair done in London and was thrilled with the results.

Posting on social media, Michelle documented her trip from the UK to Istanbul and gave her followers a before and after look at her long locks.

The clip was posted with the caption ‘I saved so much money, I’m sure that means my flights were basically free, right?’, and we initially saw Michelle board her flight, as she explained: “I flew from London to Istanbul to pack my hair. Made for less than half the price and it was so worth it.

Michelle revealed: “When we landed we were picked up in a really fancy car – they had a TV screen, water, snacks, everything.”

She then shared a look at her long, dark hair, which she confirmed had “over a year of growth.”

Michelle stated that the last time she had her hair done was in October 2022, when she lived in New Zealand.

Before her hair appointment, the content creator had a buffet breakfast at the Movenpick Hotel and was later picked up by an Uber.

After a 20-minute taxi ride, Michelle arrived in Pendik and once at the hair salon, she shared: “First they cut my hair, which was very necessary.

“And then they put all the bleach in – it was a lot of bleach.”

After bleaching her hair, Michelle underwent a keratin treatment – a process that softens and straightens the hair.

Excited about her new hairstyle, Michelle smiled: “Look how beautiful it is – it all cost me £170 for the dye, cut, keratin treatment, and they gave me free shampoo and purple shampoo.”

Michelle then explained that she “strongly recommends” getting her hair done overseas and was smiling from ear to ear not only at her new hair, but also at the price.

But how does this compare in reality?

ALTHOUGH Michelle’s hair appointment cost her £170 – how much would the whole trip cost her?

Michelle flew from London to Istanbul in February.

Although the fastest flight costs £159, the cheapest return deal is £54 and the average is £68.

Michelle stayed at the Movenpick hotel in Istanbul, and a standard room, with an advance economy rate, costs £131.26.

REACTION FROM SOCIAL MEDIA USERS

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @_michellejwIt clearly left many speechless as it quickly racked up 270,800 views.

But social media users were taken aback by Michelle’s clip – and many flocked to the comments to share their thoughts.

£170 + flights + Ubers, it’s at best the same price, if not more than in London

One person said: “Did you fly there just to get your hair done? Wow.”

Another added: “Cheaper compared to London prices, but would be even cheaper in Manchester or Leeds!”

A third wrote: “I can do this in Birmingham for £120 to be honest.”

At the same time, another user highlighted: “I love Peru but this could never have been half the price. £170 + flights + Ubers, it’s at best the same price, if not more, than in London.

Although one user stated, “I hate to say this about my own people, but unfortunately they scammed you, it shouldn’t cost this much.”
