She has now managed to completely restore her hair, which is thicker and shinier than ever.

On TikTok, Sofia shared her hair growth recommendations for those suffering from female pattern baldness.

Supplements

Sofia takes a variety of supplements to improve hair growth, including zinc and iron, which promote the growth of strong, resilient hair strands.

You can buy iron tablets for £3.40 and zinc tablets for £4.10 at Boots.

Another supplement Sofia recommended is pumpkin seed oil, which stimulates hair follicles and delivers nutrients to the scalp.

She also takes a supplement that contains DHT blockers, which prevent nutrients from being absorbed by hair follicles, causing them to shrink and fall out.

Minoxidil

Sofia said that what helped her the most was using minoxidil 5% every day.

Minoxidil promotes hair growth and can be purchased from Boots for £50.

Derma Rolling

Sofia said that to make minoxidil more effective she uses a derma roll.

Using a derma roller on your scalp creates tiny wounds, which activate growth factors and tell your hair to start repairing itself and growing.

Sofia said she found the best results by applying the derma roller twice a week before applying the minoxidil.

Ketoconazole Shampoo

The TikToker revealed that using ketoconazole shampoo helped improve hair growth.

The shampoo helps promote a healthier scalp and can be purchased from Boots for just £5.81.

The 4 phases of the hair growth cycle

Hair experts at Philip Kingsley have shared the four stages of the hair growth cycle: Anagen, Catagen, Telogen and Exogen.

Anagen Phase: Also known as the ‘Growth Phase’ or ‘Active Phase’, this is when the hair root cells divide more quickly, forming more new hair.

During the anagen phase, hair grows about half an inch per month [about six inches a year]and faster in summer than in winter.

This phase of the hair growth cycle lasts an average of three to five years.

Catagen Phase: After the Anagen Phase, your hair cycle enters a short transition phase known as the Catagen Phase, which signals the end of active hair growth and cuts off individual strands from the blood supply and cells that produce new hair.

Approximately three percent of all hair is in this stage at any given time and it lasts for about 10 days.

Telogen Phase: The third stage of the natural hair growth cycle is the Telogen Phase, a resting period in which strands remain in the follicles but are not actively growing.

An estimated 10 to 15 percent of your hair is in the telogen phase at any given time.

The Telogen Phase lasts about three months or 100 days.

Exogenous Phase: The final phase of the Hair Growth Cycle, when individual hairs are released from their follicles and fall out.

Now the whole process starts again.

Caffeine Tonic

Another thing Sofia does to promote hair growth is using caffeine toner on her hair.

She explained: “Caffeine basically brings blood to the scalp, which causes hair growth.”

Sofia’s video, which was posted under the username @sofiahairhealthIt probably left a lot of people impressed as it racked up over 892,000 views on the video-sharing platform.

TikTok users rushed to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts.

One person said: “Minoxidil has done wonders for me in just three months.”

A second person said: “This post is a lifesaver.”

A third person added: “Your hair is beautiful.”
