YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT

Dr. Michael Aziz, internist and author of The ageless revolutionshared the inside scoop on age-defying skincare with The US Sun.

One of the most important habits for maintaining smooth skin isn’t about what you put on your body, but what you put into it.

“Follow a healthy lifestyle, including a diet rich in vegetables, fruits and fish, as well as manage stress effectively,” he said.

You’ll also want to add a few simple steps to your routine.

GAIN SKIN

“Prioritize skin care, including daily use of high SPF sunscreen, moisturizing after washing and regular exfoliation,” he said.

Another habit with some of the biggest results is beauty sleep.

According to Dr. Aziz, getting enough sleep “increases blood flow to the skin and improves its appearance.”

If you don’t want to develop wrinkles, he advises avoiding smoking.

“It generates free radicals that harm the skin,” he said.

And that’s not the only thing those with healthy skin care practices avoid to prevent signs of aging.

‘No more expression lines’, says a 68-year-old woman who says she ‘doesn’t look her age’ with a cream that customers call ‘amazing’

“Avoid sun exposure and ultraviolet rays, which can seriously damage the skin,” he said.

KEEP IT NATURAL

He also emphasized that expensive items don’t necessarily lead to a lighter complexion.

In fact, many expensive products can have harmful effects on the skin.

“Many people often fall for tricks and buy expensive treatments in big department stores that may be nice, but often contain harmful chemicals, parabens, dyes and alcohol, which can dry out the skin,” he said.

Dr. Aziz always prefers more natural ingredients.

Why does our skin wrinkle as we age?

Dr. Michael Aziz, internist and author of the upcoming book The ageless revolutionrevealed five habits of young-looking people.

“As we age, we lose collagen and elastin fibers break down,” Dr. told The US Sun.

“Furthermore, the fat under the skin decreases in your thirties, reducing its support.

“Consequently, wrinkles appear as what was once smooth and plump becomes loose and wrinkled.

“However, there are solutions available to build collagen such as new devices, microneedling, and ultrasound devices at your local dermatologist.

“Cosmetic procedures like fat transfer are also becoming popular among plastic surgeons.”

And the best part is that many of these grocery and drug store products aren’t expensive.

“As skin is made of proteins, it is beneficial to use products with natural compounds such as vitamin C, known for its anti-aging properties and supporting the skin’s natural regeneration process.”

“Retinol (vitamin A) is excellent for reducing wrinkles, while peptide creams help build collagen,” he continued.

“Natural moisturizers like cocoa butter, shea butter and coconut oil are also effective at hydrating the skin.”

His recently released book also shares tips for longevity and fighting disease.
