An obsession with smelling good led one woman to create the perfect routine for a fresh, long-lasting scent.
She revealed her favorite fragrance notes and shared tips for applying them.
The woman told Reddit beauty forum members that “smelling good” has become a challenge since welcoming her baby boy.
PERFUMED EXFOLIANT
She confessed that she was always “obsessed” with having a pleasant perfume that lasted all day.
She said the first step in her routine involves using scented products in the shower.
“I always use a body scrub to remove [remove dead skin cells]I use a glove to fully exfoliate and a back brush,” she said, writing under the handle Fishbate333.
“Then I use bar soap with a loofah to clean myself and make sure everything is completely clean.
“Then, a scented liquid soap. Whatever scent I choose, I keep it consistent with all the products I use that day.”
She said her love of food inspired her to use a coffee-scented scrub from Tree Hut and a warm vanilla sugar body wash from Bath & Body Works.
However, she uses a “plain” Dove bar soap for her loofah.

“When I get out of the shower, I make sure all the wrinkles are completely dry,” she said.
“Under my armpits, between my cheeks, under my breasts. You want them completely dry.
EXCELLENT OIL
After putting on deodorant, she applies a vanilla almond body oil from TJMaxx.
She didn’t share a link to the exact product, but a sweet almond body oil is available in store for just $6.99.
“Then I put on lotion (discontinued BBW coffee-scented lotion),” she said.
“Then I put Nemat vanilla and musk body oil on my wrist and put a layer of Black Opium on top.
“Don’t rub your wrists, you’ll ruin the perfume.”
SCENTED FOLLICLES
The beauty enthusiast revealed that her perfume focus goes from head to toe.
“For my hair, I use vanilla milk scented detangler and Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum which smells so good,” she said.
“I also spray perfume in my hair.”
She recommended wearing clothing made from “breathable” materials.
She said your smell will be affected if clothes, towels and sheets are left in the washing machine for too long.
“I usually carry lotion and deodorant in my bag to freshen up,” she added.
Many people upvoted the guide to achieving a head-turning scent.
However, Health line experts advise against spraying perfume on your hair, as ethyl alcohol can have a drying effect.
They suggest swapping perfume for hair mists, scented serums, or dry shampoo.
