A curly-haired woman has revealed how her colour-damaged hair grew down to her tailbone.

She said a “crucial” change in style and using the right products has improved the health of her hair.

Cezara Robu is quickly gaining subscribers on YouTubewhere she shares beauty and wellness videos.

The 26-year-old Londoner went viral on the platform when she made a video about her long hair.

Speaking to The US Sun, she revealed how she fixed her damaged locks.

TAKE A SHORTCUT

Robu said her hair was naturally “very curly and big” growing up.

However, using a hairdryer to straighten her curls during high school caused the health of her hair to deteriorate.

“At that time, straight hair was very popular, and even though I didn’t want to straighten it, I was still looking for a looser curl pattern,” she said.

“At university, I started dyeing my hair, which had an even greater impact on his health.

“I didn’t know how to take good care of my colored hair, so the health of my curls got worse.”

She decided to make a big move in March 2022 after seeing other content creators showing off their “beautiful, bouncy” locks.

“I really wanted to restore my hair and cut out all the damage and visible color growth,” she said.

“It took maybe a year and a half to grow back, which was a lot faster than I expected.”

I grew my hair 15 centimeters in 2 months – there is a ‘formula’ to transform fine, dusty strands into flowing locks

STIMULATE THREADS

Robu said he could spend “all day” listing the steps he took to encourage rapid hair growth.

“First of all, I stopped dying my hair,” she said.

“I occasionally use semi-permanent black dye to intensify the dark color I have naturally, and occasionally I mean every 12 months.

“The last time I dyed my hair was last spring, and now it’s all faded.”

Robu said he also evaluated the tools he used to style his hair every day.

“I threw away my old hairbrushes with ball bristles that were contributing to a lot of breakage,” she said.

“I bought one that is more suitable for curly hair and large tangles, the Tangle Teezer Wet Detangler.”

Staying away from heat has been a crucial step in maintaining the health of my hair.

Tangle Teezer’s Wet Detangler has an impressive rating of 4.6 stars out of a possible 5 on Amazon.

Robu said she adapted her routine further after research revealed she has high porosity hair.

“This meant that protein would be essential for the health of my hair and I switched to a gel with protein,” she said.

“I also started double cleansing, which ensured that product build-up was properly removed from my lengths and that my scalp remained clean and healthy.”

HEATLESS STYLE

Robu said her locks are now “healthier,” but she is still on a journey to learn more about hair care.

“My hair is definitely longer than it’s ever been,” she said.

“When wet, it extends past my tailbone and when it’s straight, I accidentally sit on it often.”

She revealed that she only gets salon cuts every one or two years, as she prefers to get rid of her split ends at home alone.

She said going several times a year would be “counterintuitive” as all new growth would be stopped.

Robu said another key factor in maintaining her hair length is limiting how often she uses heat styling tools.

“I was a fan of air drying until I researched the negative aspects of leaving your hair wet for long periods, so I switched to diffusing and air drying,” she said.

“I use my diffuser every wash day on low to medium heat and try not to touch my hair with it.

“Other than that, I might straighten my hair every 12 months or so.

“I prefer the curly look anyway, so it’s not hard to stay away from straighteners or heat tools.

“Staying away from heat was a crucial step in maintaining the health of my hair.”

POWERFUL PRODUCTS

Robu revealed that she has a selection of essential hair care products that she uses to keep her curls looking their best.

“I love wearing a satin bonnet every night, it’s a game changer for keeping my curls looking great throughout the week,” she said.

“If I lose it, I won’t sleep unless I find it.

“Style-wise, I love a light to medium hold gel with protein, like OnlyCurls Enhancing Curl Gel or Bounce Curl Light Hold Cream Gel.

“I don’t use them every day, but they are essential for keeping my curls in shape throughout the week.”
