DESPITE the sun not shining all the time, this summer we saw unprecedentedly high pollen levels – which affected my skin.

My hands are dry, my eczema has gotten worse, and my lips are chapped — but I’ve found a summer savior.

When Inkey List released the clear Tripeptide Plumping Lip Balm earlier this year, it was better than I expected.

Instantly hydrating, softening and smoothing, it had all the qualities of a glossy lip balm, plus the added bonus of smooth, gradual plumping.

Powered by a Tripeptide Complex, it hydrates, plumps and defines lips, leaving them up to 40% fuller in just four weeks – and has gone viral for actually living up to its claims.

However, now the brand has launched a successor – and it’s even better.

A few weeks ago, the Fabulous The beauty team received one of the most heartwarming emails we’ve received in a while.

“The Inkey List is launching tinted lip balms!” I exclaimed, sending an instant wave of excitement throughout the office.

And then this month, the skincare brand launched three new tinted tripeptide lip balms — and I was one of the first to try them.

Smooth as butter, non-sticky and lightly tinted, this lip balm really does everything.

With its deep, wine-red formula, it provides a natural “bitten lip” appearance, without compromising hydration.

Once applied, the balm is lightweight and non-sticky, meaning you can even apply it to your cheeks for a quick and easy flush.

While I love the deep red shade, it tends to pill at the corners of my lips, which means I have to blend it with my fingers after application.

How to Save Money on Beauty Product Shopping

IF your purse is tighter than ever and you want to save money on your makeup routine, have you considered trying beauty hacks?

Here are five of the best recommended beauty buys that are nearly identical to the sleek versions, but at a fraction of the price.

FACE BASE: If you can’t afford Charlotte Tilbury’s £52 Magic Cream, why not try a dupe that costs just £5.49 from Superdrug?

TONES: If Drunk Elephant’s £62 Protini moisturizer is out of your price range, you’ll need to check out the new product at Home Bargains.

DYEING: With Fenty’s ‘revolutionary’ skin tint costing an eye-watering £29, an affordable popular supermarket alternative could be just the thing for you.

GET COVERED: At £29 for the Tarte concealer, Primark’s new dupe is much more affordable at just £3.50.

SPRAY YES: For those who want to smell fresh without the price tag, Aldi’s new Prada and Chloe perfumes are a fraction of the price.

Reminiscent of a milky latte, this beige balm is (almost) the perfect nude shade.

Possibly my favorite of the new lip shades, you can build the formula from a subtle balm to a high-shine gloss.

Although it has a slightly chemical, clinical scent, the formula instantly penetrates dry skin, plumping and hydrating cracks and chapped lips.

The balm’s texture is similar to a lip oil, so you can even swipe it over your favorite lipstick for a lifted, hydrated pout.

You can reapply the formula up to three times a day — but to be honest, applying it once in the morning is enough to see my lips through the day.

The Inkey List Tripeptide Lip Balm in Pink

Although this cotton candy pink balm looks intimidating straight out of the tube, it’s actually very flattering.

Once applied to the lips, it has a bright cherry pink finish that blurs lines and imperfections.

Its exclusive formula, including 2% Ultra Filling spheres, helps hydrate lips and retain moisture, protecting them from dryness from air conditioning, wind and rain.

I’ve been using lip balms for a little over a month now and I’ve definitely noticed a difference.

While my lips aren’t dramatically fuller or plumper, I’ve certainly noticed that my bottom lip is more prominent.

So fingers crossed that my upper lip catches up soon too!
