I use a $7 cream religiously – it’s traditional but underrated, there’s a reason it’s older than your great-grandparents

SOMETIMES all it takes is one tried-and-true product to turn back the clock, according to one skincare lover.

She swore by a traditional, budget-friendly skincare item that she prefers over any trendy purchase.

Editor Gapcautious3157 realized that she doesn’t need anything more than a thrifty find to smooth her skin.

“I use Ponds religiously and have tried other moisturizers at different times in my life, but I always come back to Ponds,” she said.

The best thing is that you only need a little bit of product to make a big difference.

“It’s affordable and one jar lasts for months because the cream is so thick you don’t need much to apply it to your face,” she said.

She even found several uses for the Lagoas Facial Cream which sells for $6.68 on Amazon.

This includes discovering that it also works as a “great” makeup remover.

She didn’t need any fancy brands in her routine.

“A lot of what you pay for in high-end beauty products is actually just advertising, pretty packaging and greenwashing. The old stuff works really well,” she said.

In addition to Ponds, she was also a fan of other drugstore purchases, including products from Olay, Dove, Thrayers, Nivea, Vaseline and Jergens.

“And it works just as well and a lot cheaper than the $40 high-end for a 90 ml tube you can get,” she said.

“Also, ladies and gentlemen, many of these products are older than your great-grandparents!” she continued.

“There must be a reason why they’ve been around so long, right?”
