A SKINCARE fan shared the unconventional technique she uses to prevent wrinkles.
She explained that her trick is the reason she doesn’t have deep wrinkles on her forehead at age 55.
Editor Close to the distance shared the anti-aging beauty tip in a post.
A habit she developed in her 20s has paid off after decades of use.
“I have been using transparent tape on my face since I was 20 years old. I’m 55 now and I don’t have deep wrinkles,” she said.
“At least, I don’t think so.”
She initially relied on the tape to help her with her 11 lines.
“I started using it because I squinted because of hyperopia and noticed at that time that expression lines were appearing between my eyebrows,” she said.
While the etching technique is popular among skincare enthusiasts now, she explained that she came up with the idea on her own in her 20s.
“One day I randomly thought about it. There was no social media back then,” she said.

“I’ve always been a cheap, innovative kind of person.”
Now the tool comes in handy whenever she wants to treat her skin.
“I also use clear tape for other things, like to give my face a little hidden lift here or there when I need it,” she said.
She revealed that she initially started taping her face with “regular tape” but had to pivot after discovering some issues.
“It was really bright and people at work looked at me like I was crazy and laughed at me because I often wore a piece between my eyebrows during the day. It was so obvious!” she said.
She noticed a huge difference after making the necessary changes to save herself from public ridicule.
“I tried to share the hack, but they didn’t believe it would work. Little did they know that I would have the last laugh,” she said.
Other lifestyle changes, along with tape, gave her skin she was happy with.
In addition to her healthy eating habits, she explained that she was extremely diligent about applying sunscreen.
“I’m a lifelong long-distance runner and weightlifter. I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I don’t eat a lot of junk/processed food,” she said.
“I have a regular skincare routine with Aveeno Positively Ageless products.
“I also live in Seattle and we don’t get any sun for about nine months a year. But even so, I still use sunscreen religiously.”
