Dr. Gabassi is a facial aesthetics practitioner and cosmetic dentist, based in Harley Street, England.

Speaking to The US Sun, she shared little-known beauty tips.

PRESS SNOOZE

Dr. Gabassi said youthful skin can be maintained with seven to nine hours of quality sleep every night.

She recommended investing in a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction and minimize wrinkles on your skin.

She said a humidifier in the bedroom can also help keep your skin hydrated.

“During sleep, the body repairs and regenerates skin cells, balances hormones and reduces inflammation, which contributes to a healthy, youthful appearance,” she said.

“I tell my clients to sleep on their back as this prevents creases and wrinkles caused by pressure on the skin.

“It’s important to maintain a consistent sleep schedule and practice good sleep hygiene as this can further support skin health.”

Gabassi said a “mild form” of retinol can be used to boost collagen production in your 20s and 30s.

She recommends brightening your skin tone with vitamin C starting in your 20s.

‘No more expression lines’, says a 68-year-old woman who says she ‘doesn’t look her age’ with a cream that customers call ‘amazing’

She said people of all ages can use hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump the skin, while peptides can be beneficial for firmness and elasticity in your 20s.

“Vitamin C should be applied first, followed by hyaluronic acid, peptides, and finally retinol,” she said.

“It is important to wait a few minutes between each application of the product to allow adequate absorption.

“Skin care products should be applied in the order of thinnest to thickest consistency to ensure adequate absorption and effectiveness of each.”

She said applying thicker products like creams and lotions last also helps prevent dilution.

Cold spoons can be used to reduce swelling and egg whites can be used for a temporary tightening effect.

She also recommended using a light, non-greasy sunscreen, like Altruist, to prevent premature aging and skin damage.

PAmper yourself

Dr. Gabassi said it’s important to stay hydrated, manage stress, avoid smoking and eat a diet rich in antioxidants.

There is also a selection of home remedies that can be incorporated into an anti-aging routine.

She recommended nourishing your skin with a DIY face mask made with a blend of honey, aloe vera, and turmeric.

“Cold spoons can be used to reduce swelling, and egg whites can be used for a temporary tightening effect,” she said.

“Both can provide anti-aging benefits when used regularly.”

Alternatively, she suggested professional aesthetic treatment.

“The Perfect Peel is a popular chemical peel treatment that can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles,” she said.

“Exfoliates the skin, stimulating collagen production and improving skin texture.

“While we can do things to reduce the appearance of aging and anti-aging solutions can increase confidence, it is also important to embrace aging and natural beauty through self-love, self-care and acceptance of the body’s natural changes.

“Ultimately, growing old is a blessing because it means we are given the gift of time.”
