A SAVVY shopper shared how she scored a beauty purchase similar to a well-known product.
While roaming the aisles of her local Trader Joe’s, she spotted a dupe for a $48 Sephora skin care purchase.
Reddit user Metalmommy82 loves many businesses and couldn’t help but share her beauty collection on the platform.
She stocked the Trader Joe’s Body Wash with Brazil Nuts$5.99, with coconut oil and shea butter, and the Trader Joe’s Brazil Nut Body ButterUS$5.99, with açaí and guaraná extracts.
She admitted that she was “obsessed” with these products.
“They smell so good and the scent lasts all day for me. I’m so glad I was able to get my hands on them because Bum Bum cream is so expensive.
She claimed it was a mistake for the popular Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream$48, available at Sephora.
The body cream aims to “visibly tighten the skin” and reduce cellulite.
It is formulated with caffeine-rich guarana and infused with the “warm, gourmand aroma of Cheirosa ’62”.
While it may not have body-sculpting effects, Trader Joe’s version of the body butter makes you smell like you just stepped out of a tropical paradise for a quarter of the price.

The strong aromas of salted caramel and pistachio and the beachy notes of coconut and vanilla make it a solid competitor to the more expensive brand.
The Reddit user praised how it “smells amazing” and leaves her skin so soft.
“I find it lasts a long time, like Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. I just can’t afford to keep spending so much money on it, so I’m really happy that Trader Joe’s has a much cheaper comparable version!” she said.
The Reddit user said she plans to continually stock up when she returns to the store because they don’t sell the products year-round.
“I bought the scrub today and some more body butters, so I’ll let you all know how I like the scrub!” she wrote in a comment.
“Oh! I need to stop by Trader Joe’s! I stocked up on body oil this winter. I love the smell,” one Redditor commented.

“I really need to get my hands on the body oil when it hits the shelves again! Does it feel nice on your skin?” she answered.
Excited buyers were also full of questions about similar products.
“Does the perfume last all day when you use both products?” another asked.
She said it lasts a long time and shared her shower routine for a stronger scent.
The Trader Joe’s fan said she mixed the body wash with a Tree Hut thrift purchase in Tropic Glow.
“It’s a similar scent and I get a lot of lather this way and it smells amazing,” she added.
