A 50-YEAR-OLD hack lover has shared her home remedy for fresh, soft feet.
She demonstrated her DIY “foot smoothie,” which is a natural method of nail maintenance with just a few ingredients.
Clara Hooper (@clarehooper) is fabulous at 50 thanks to her natural skincare tricks.
She showed in a Instagram Reel how she used three ingredients commonly found in her home to care for her toes.
“POV: You found a new way to keep your 50-year-old feet cool and soft all summer long,” read the text on the screen.
With its useful trick, you no longer need to go to a beauty salon to have soft and smooth soles.
Clare invited viewers into her living room and poured a blue liquid into a bucket of hot water.
“Your eyes don’t deceive you. White vinegar and cheap mouthwash will always and forever be my favorite smoothie,” she explained in the caption.
After a day of hard work in the garden, she admitted that her “feet are often filthy and drier than the Sahara desert.”
Previously, she tried several other methods to maintain them, but didn’t want to break the bank on it.

“I tried all kinds,” she said.
But the DIY queen said she likes to keep things “cheap and cheerful,” which is exactly what this process is all about.
STEP BY STEP
First, she said she likes to “measure with her heart” how much water she uses.
“It’s about 2 liters of warm water,” she explained.
But Clare said you can put your toes in “any temperature you like” or are comfortable with.
Then add a “generous glug” of white vinegar to the mixture.
Lastly, add half a bottle of mouthwash to complete the mixture.
Treat it like a spa day.
Don’t forget to moisturize them afterwards to enhance their soft texture.
REAL REACTIONS
Clare said to wet your toes as long as you want, but other Instagram users weren’t convinced.
“Oh yes, I swear, once a year, just before summer. It even managed to improve my husband’s dirty feet too,” commented one woman.
She also shared helpful advice.
“One tip, however, is to use neutral-colored mouthwash. I once made my feet too long and ended up with a greenish tinge,” she said.
She wasn’t the only one who went through a similar scenario.
Another Instagram user said the mouthwash mixture turned their feet into “Smurf feet.”
The comments section was also filled with enthusiastic words from viewers who had already tried it.
“This is a highly regarded method for helping athletes with athlete’s foot as well,” advised one.
“I saw this on Pinterest ten years ago, tried it, and believed it for a while. Thanks for reminding me!” someone wrote.
