TRAVELING women are often seen dressed to the nines – and it turns out they might have some cheap beauty tricks to achieve their look.
Heidi McClee, who posts below @h.mccc, shared how she manages to look “high maintenance” without breaking the bank, thanks to some “low maintenance” tricks.
Speaking to Fabulous, Heidi said: “I think Traveler and Gypsy women take pride in their appearance, but so do most women.
“TikTok is full of ‘how to do high maintenance but do low maintenance things,’ it’s more of a trend.
“We take care of our hair, so oiling it is a traditional thing we have always done.
“Again with heatless curlers and silk scrunchies they became a trend, but it’s something we’ve always done, just to protect our hair from heat damage.”

OIL YOUR HAIR WEEKLY
The glamorous traveler shared how you need to add hair oil to your weekly beauty routine.
Heidi shared: “Amla oil It’s the best, it helps with breakage, growth and leaves your hair really strong and shiny, it’s about £5, and the bottle lasts a long time.
“It’s better than any expensive hair treatment.”

BEARD DYE FOR EYEBROWS
To achieve perfect eyebrows, the traveler opts for using Just For Men mustache and beard dye.
She simply applies it to her eyebrows, waits for the allotted time and then washes it off.
Heidi said: “This is the best eyebrow dye, hands down.
“This whole bottle will cost £5 and will last a long time.”

DIY EYELASH EXTENSIONS
Instead of paying for expensive lashes, Heidi said she loves homemade lashes and called them “game changers.”
The brand she loves most is Tatti Lashes, which costs around £8.95 for a set.
She added: “There is no harm to your natural lashes, plus you never have the problem of having open lashes waiting for a fill appointment.”

USE SILK SCRUNCHIES
To avoid hair breakage, Heidi only uses elastics to hold her hair back and says silk ones are the best.
Another thing she uses is a claw clip.
She explained: “Travellers/gypsies always wore claw clips (before they came back into fashion) as this would protect their hair from breaking.”

DRYING AT HOME
Another thing Heidi does without fail It’s a weekly drying.
She shared: “I’ve been using the Babyliss hot air styler for about 10 years.
“The perfect salon to always dry your hair at home.
“To keep your hair stylish for the rest of the week, use heat-free curling irons.
“Find one that works for you, I use the small three for my hair because it’s shorter.”

Facts about Gypsy and Traveler communities
Typically, Gypsy is a term used to describe Gypsy people who migrated from India to Europe, while Traveler refers to a person with Irish, Scottish or English heritage.
Around 300,000 Gypsy, Gypsy and Irish Travelers are believed to live in the UK.
All three groups come from nomadic lifestyles, however, as it becomes increasingly difficult to find land to live on, many are moving into permanent housing.
They highly value family life and often live together even after they reach adulthood and get married.
Men are often the breadwinners of the family while women stay at home.
While many English Gypsy girls may drink alcohol and go on vacation with friends before getting married, their Irish counterparts cannot.
