And the mother of two swears it kills any germs her kids may have picked up when they’re outside.

She said: “I love it, it’s an antiseptic and kills germs so I love using it if the kids are playing or in the park and need a good scrub haha.

“Dettol baths are amazing for your baby (from nine months of age). Use a few caps to eliminate any bacteria and it’s especially amazing on days when you’re going to a playdate or if your kids are sick.

“It’s part of our ritual for the kids to be in some play area to kill all those nasty germs.”

Dee has since gone viral on TikTok (Image: Instagram)@daackx) after sharing her Dettol bath hack, with the clip racking up 164,000 views.

Alongside the video, she said: “I really can’t believe there are people out there who don’t know that Dettol baths are safe and highly recommended.

“Check the back of the bottle before you come get me, OK.”

But she was still inundated with hate messages from people claiming she would make her children sick if she kept doing this.

One person fumed: “I’m sorry, but absolutely not. Chemical baths for what?

“Germs, believe it or not, are important! You’re going to ruin your kids’ immune system and they’re going to get EVERYTHING. Cancer is the first thing that comes to mind.”

‘This is going too far’ people cry as mother of four reveals ‘absolutely disgusting’ truth about her children’s bathing habits

A second echoed: “Surely some germs are good or will never develop your immune system. The doctor once told me that it is better to let them catch colds, etc., earlier so that their immune system becomes stronger.”

A third added: “Do they need to be around germs to boost their immune system? It will only make them very sick when they catch a germ.”

“I prefer not to irritate my child’s skin. Or the eyes, for that matter,” he fired a fourth.

A fifth wrote: “Yes destroy their immune system why not!

And a sixth shouted: “Oh my God, no! Soap and warm water will remove anything bad from your skin. Dettol is full of chemicals. Please don’t bathe in it.”

Responding to the trolls, Dee told Fabulous: “I don’t think a lot of people know that you can actually use Dettol in the shower. People automatically think it’s bleach and shouldn’t be put in the bath.

“I get a lot of comments saying it will make my kids sick as it will ruin their immune system, but a bath a week is actually very beneficial for them.

“Whenever they get sick, I put them in a Dettol bath and I find that cures the illness much faster.”

WHAT THE EXPERTS SAY

Dettol bosses say their liquid antiseptic can be used for first aid, medical and personal hygiene.

Wound cleaning: Wash the affected area with two and a half teaspoons (12.5ml) of liquid Dettol diluted in 1/2 liter (1/4 liter) of water. Cover with dry gauze or lint.

Personal hygiene/hygienic showers: When recommended by your doctor: Two teaspoons (10ml) in 2 liters (1L) of water.

Dandruff: One tablespoon in 1 liter (1/2 L) of warm water. Pour over the scalp. Leave it to act for 10 minutes before washing.

Blemishes and pimples: One tablespoon (15ml) in 1/2 liter (1/4 liter) of warm water. Bathe the affected area daily. If contact occurs with eyes, wash them thoroughly with cold water. If swallowed, wash your mouth and drink plenty of water or milk. In both cases, consult a doctor and take this bottle with you.

To feel refreshed and truly clean, 30ml of Dettol Liquid can also be used safely in the shower

They warn that you should not use Dettol Liquid on eczema or similar dry skin conditions, if you are allergic to coroxylenol or other ingredients, after the expiration date printed on the bottle, or in undiluted form.

She added: “My 4-year-old daughter has been with them for nine months and is perfectly fine.

“She rarely gets sick and when she does it never lasts long. I think it’s because of the Dettol baths.”

And other parents jumped to Dee’s defense, revealing they also swear by Dettol baths.

“I put liquid Dettol in my and my children’s baths AND I use Dettol bar soap, plus no one can stop me,” revealed one.

A second wrote: “I’m 48 years old and every Sunday my parents gave us Dettol baths and my children and grandparents took them so fresh.”

A third added: “We always took Dettol in the bath when we were little. I still like the smell of it, haha.”

A fourth chimed in: “I’ve been taking Dettol baths since I was a baby, now my baby takes them and the smell brings back so many memories.”

Meanwhile, a fifth said: “OMG, whenever I told people I was going to take a Dettol bath, they literally laughed at me!

We previously told how dogged Dettol Dee uses a bottle a day and spends £120 a month on sanitiser.

Explaining her love for the product, she said: “I love the smell of it and it leaves it all over the house, it’s amazing.

“People say they can smell my clothes and my presence before I even get close to them.

“I always get comments from the postman and delivery people saying they can smell it before I open the front door.”

She added: “I’ve gotten to the point where I go into a store and if they sell it, I can’t leave without buying a bottle.

“My friend made me a huge gift basket with lots of different sized bottles and it’s the best gift I’ve ever received. It made me really happy.”
