THE wife of an ice hockey star has been inundated with demands to name her baby Dundee after becoming pregnant in Scotland.

Lo Carr and husband Kevin, 33, moved to the Scottish city from North America last year after signing for Dundee Stars.

The couple regularly blog about their time on their new patch and have been hailed for “showcasing Dundee in a positive light”.

People have even insisted that they deserve a contract with Visit Scotland for the beautiful image they create.

And now they will have a “little Scottish souvenir” to cherish forever when they return home at the end of the hockey season.

The pair revealed last week that they will welcome a baby girl into the world in June.

Lo kept her pregnancy a secret for six months before announcing it in a cute social media post, holding a baby with Kevin’s jersey number on it.

She said: “Every year my husband and I pack up our lives and move to a new place for hockey season.

“We always dreamed of experiencing this lifestyle with a son rooting for his father.

“That dream is finally coming true.”

The couple were quickly inundated with congratulatory messages from fans as their post went viral with 108,000 views.

“Congratulations, it’s that magical Scottish air,” praised one.

A second wrote: “Aww, extra special and precious gift from Scotland.”

A third added: “Congratulations, as we Scots would say, ‘there must be something in the water’.”

Meanwhile, a fourth added: “OMG, big congratulations, fabulous news. Scotland will forever be in his heart.”

And many Scottish fans have also had their say on what they think the Carrs should name their daughter.

“Ahh, congratulations!! The baby is going to need a Scottish name now,” insisted one.

A second wrote: “Congratulations!! The baby at least needs a Scottish middle name.”

A third added: “I hope Alba can be a middle name – a nice tribute to Scotland.”

“Scottie would be so cute,” a fourth suggested.

Others got even more specific when someone said: “Baby Dundee, kinda cute.”

“Wow, wow, you’ll have to call him Dundee,” echoed someone else.

And a third wrote: “Or DeeDee! Cute abbreviation and the zip code.”

If Lo accepted the suggestion, her baby would be the first baby in Scotland to be named Dundee since birth records began in 1974.

Unfortunately, she quickly shot down the name by saying, “I hate to break it to you, but I just don’t see it happening.”

But she hinted that a Scottish middle name is “a possibility”, so all hope is not lost.
