TRYING to find toys to keep little ones entertained can be tricky, especially if you’re trying to keep costs down.
An experienced mom found Bluey toys in Asda for less than £20, which your kids will love.
Despite this, not everyone was thrilled when Stephanie shared the bargain on Facebook.
Originally posting in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, she revealed that she found a Bluey’s kitchen set in her local supermarket.
Based on the adorable children’s cartoon, this plastic playset has a built-in Bluey-shaped fridge with opening doors, a stove and even a sink to keep your kids busy for hours.
It also has shelves and hooks to place dishes, as well as a smoothie maker hidden under the stove.
However, the set also comes with many accessories.
Among the ten items included are mini Salt and pepper shakers, cutlery, pans, a plate and a cup for the smoothie maker.
Ideal for children aged two and up, Asda says the set helps encourage ‘imaginative role-play, coordination and social interaction’.
Even better, the product description says it will help budding chefs “become familiar with kitchen appliances and utensils.”
Unsurprisingly, the Facebook user was determined to buy the set for her son.
Sharing a photo of the Bluey toy, she wrote: “Just saw this in Asda [for] £17.50… they still had some in Asda Minworth but the boxes were slightly damaged on the ones that were left.”
Almost immediately, the post went viral, with over 170 parents commenting on it – all desperate to find the set for their children.
Many even tagged their loved ones and begged them to keep an eye out for the toy, with comments like, “If you see this, let me know.”
Another admitted they didn’t want their children to see this, joking: “Please don’t show this to daddy.”
A third already planned to keep the playset for Christmas.
After tagging their friend, they urgently wrote: “I need to buy one for Christmas… buy it if you see it and we will give you your money back.”
Others were lucky enough to snag the set when it went on sale late last year, with one mum saying: “My 2-year-old loves this…she got it for Christmas.”
However, one mother revealed a downside to the set.
In the comments, she explained that the set is small and revealed that their son was almost taller than the set.
“Just FYI, if your kids are tall for their age, this may not be the best,” she explained, adding, “I bought it for Christmas and my 14-month-old pod is as tall, if not taller than… is really cute, though.
If you’re still tempted to purchase the playset, it’s worth noting that it’s currently out of stock on the Asda website.
This means you’ll have to visit your local supermarket if you don’t miss anything – as they’re already running out of stock.
