A mother was left outraged after discovering a shocking feature in her son’s dollhouse.

Adorable mini bed, other wooden or plastic furniture, perhaps some paintings and plants on the walls – the typical items we would expect to find inside a children’s playhouse.

However, one of the mothers, Simone Navybox from Brisbane, Australia, was shocked to see a rather dark and worrying feature in her son’s dollhouse – a scale.

Taking to TikTok where she posts under her username @simonenavyboxthe Australian mum revealed the $10 (£5) set which came with a wooden shower, toilet, plunger, bath mat and sink next to it, as well as a set of scales.

“Um, I’m probably not going to teach my daughter that she needs scales in her bathroom Kmart,” the horrified woman told her followers, slamming the Australian supermarket.

In the caption, the mother added that she has already thrown away the wooden element.

“It went in the trash.”

It goes without saying that the video now viralwhich racked up over 8 million views in just three days, received thousands of perplexed comments.

In the eyes of many concerned viewers, several of them pointed out that the mini scale may encourage unhealthy eating and dietary habits in the younger generation.

One person bravely opened up: ”I have a history of erectile dysfunction [eating disorders] and I literally can’t have scales at home.

”I’ve tried, but I get so obsessed, weighing myself several times a day and spiraling. A toy like this too soon feels like a pain.”

Another chimed in: “Just put it in the kitchen and tell her it’s for baking.”

Forget the Bluey chair, now parents are rushing to Aldi for near-identical Jellycat dolls that are £54 cheaper

A third said: “I told mine it was a watch so that’s how she wears it – because what a stupid thing to put in that set.”

However, not everyone disagreed with the supermarket, as, in their eyes, there was nothing wrong with toy scales.

“Just because you have traumas and insecurities about the scales doesn’t mean they do too”, thought one person.

“She’s been weighed by the doctor since she was a day old.”

Someone thought, “Maybe teach her that scale isn’t a bad thing.

”You doing this will make her think there is a problem with the scale.”

After taking over the internet, Simone told FEMAIL that many social media users didn’t understand where she was coming from.

“A lot of people on TikTok don’t seem to get it.

”Everyone has an opinion when it comes to parenting, but the important thing is that you Know what is right for your child.
