My body grew in weird ways when I was pregnant – some of it doubled in size and people said it stopped them from having kids

THERE are a lot of strange things that happen to your body when you’re pregnant, but one woman was shocked when she discovered part of her face was growing, as well as her belly.

Becky Hathaway has revealed that her nose doubled in size when she was expecting her baby, much to her surprise.

Now pregnant again, the mother began to TikTok to share before and after photos in a viral video.

“I had to post this again because it’s only a matter of time before the pregnancy the nose goes back in,” she captioned the clip.

In the first images, Becky can be seen with a rather small nose as she smiled with friends before getting pregnant.

But then, when she posed with her baby bump, her nose became noticeably bigger.

Becky confessed that she hated it so much that she ended up hiding at home at the end of her pregnancy: “I was so embarrassed,” she wrote.

It looked swollen and even slightly red in some of the photos the mother shared on social media.

In fact, in all the pregnancy photos, the mother’s nose looked much bigger, and people said that was enough to put them off having children.

“This is a great pregnancy prevention video,” one person joked in the comments section.

“New fear unlocked,” wrote another.

And a third was equally shocked and said: “I already have a big nose so it’s going to take over my face.”

“I had it too. My boss knew I was pregnant before I even knew because of my nose,” another added.

Meanwhile, other mothers confessed that the same thing happened when they were pregnant.

“My dad told me my nose looked like a pepper,” said one.

“I also had a pregnancy nose. My feet got wider, this remained after baby number two, but my nose is back to normal,” added another.

What is pregnancy nose?

Christine Greves, an obstetrician and gynecologist in Orlando, Florida, many pregnant people actually experience ‘pregnancy nose.’

Speaking with TODAY.com she explained: “The underlying reason is because of the hormones that increase during pregnancy and these hormones cause the vessels to dilate, which can result in more blood flow going to certain areas – and that’s because we need it for the uterus.”

And don’t worry, while it may be strange to see yourself with a bigger nose, it’s completely harmless for most people and usually returns to normal about six weeks after giving birth, she added.
