It’s no secret that your body changes a lot when you’re pregnant, but one woman had no idea how unrecognizable she would become.

But all of that went out the window when she got pregnant for the first time and realized how much it was affecting her body.
In a now-viral TikTok video, the mom joked about how “cute” she thought she would be when pregnant.
In the clip, which has more than 1.6 million views, she showed what she looked like before getting pregnant, with sculpted cheekbones, full lips and flawless skin.
But then the video showed what Mashego really looked like — and it’s safe to say she didn’t quite have the pregnancy glow she was hoping for.
In the first photo, the mother looked completely exhausted and her makeup days were behind her.
“I didn’t even have energy to take a shower,” she admitted in the video’s caption.
Her once flawless skin also disappeared and the mother was left with acne and texture from all the hormones.
Then there was the swelling.
Mashego showed a photo of her legs and ankles when they were so swollen she could barely put her Crocs on.
All of this meant a cute pregnancy photo shoot was out of the question: “I couldn’t even take pictures,” the mom told a TikTok user in the clip’s comments section.
In a follow-up video, the mother said she eventually “recovered” and was back to her old self.
But her pregnancy photos were enough to put some people off having kids forever.
One commented: “I’m so scared of this, I don’t think there are any kids for me haha.”
“I cried every day,” wrote a second, and a third added: “My jaw dropped.”
Meanwhile, someone else was so shocked by the stark difference that they weren’t convinced the photos were of the same person and said: “I refuse to believe it’s you.”
But other mothers knew Mashago’s pain all too well, and one of them even said the same thing happened to her.
“I also felt like a weapon held against my husband,” she commented.
“My ankles are like this too, I don’t miss it,” said another.
Mashago wasn’t the only one who was shocked by the unusual changes to her body; Recently, another mom-to-be was shocked when her nose doubled in size.
