A mom is hitting back at trolls who don’t like her baby’s unique name — and she has the support of an A-list celebrity.
Daisy Jane Wood and her husband Alex, both 27, have three children – Eva LeeAnn, seven, Manuel Allen, three, and a three-month-old baby girl.
It’s their newest name that has caused division online – with parents calling her Lemon Jane.
The parents chose the name in honor of Lemon Breeland, a fictional character from the TV show ‘Hart of Dixie’ played by Jaime King.
Sharing the nickname on Instagram, (@daisyjanewood ) her video received over 1.8 million views and over 33,000 likes.
Online, it’s a mixed bag of reactions.
Some people are in favor of the unique name, but others despise it – some even comment that Lemon will “hate” Daisy for choosing it when she gets older.
Jaime King herself even shared her thoughts – commenting on one of her mother’s posts.
“I don’t regret calling her Lemon and we don’t care if some people hate it,”
Daisy, from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, USA, explained how she came to name her son Lemon, saying:
“I started watching the show Hart of Dixie to have something to watch while my husband is at work because he always messes up and then I can’t watch it without him.
“Of course he joined the series and when he found out that one of the characters was called Lemon, he immediately fell in love with the name.
“Lemon is my favorite character!
“Some people love it and think it’s the best name ever.
“Some people absolutely despise this and make extremely hateful comments.
“They say the most unimaginable things.
“A lot of people think of it as a negative term.
“They associate it with sour, but we think of all the sweet things made with lemon.
“My husband loves to call her his little drop of lemon or lemonade.”
When it came time to choose the name, the mother wasn’t actually pregnant – but the parents decided at that moment that their third child would be named after the citrus fruit, if they had a girl. Margarida said:
“Her middle name is Jane, named after my middle name, which I share with my mother and cousin.
“Lemon Jane seemed perfect to us.
I loved the name and thought it was the cutest Southern name for our daughter.

“Lemon is not only a fruit, but also a beautiful tree and a flower.
“Jaime King, the actress who plays Lemon Breeland, was honored that we named Lemon after her character.”
In one of her mother’s posts, Jaime wrote: “This is the sweetest, most loving gift anyone could have. I am very honored and grateful. Lemon means everything to me and also to your son, forever.
Others, in the mother’s own life, were more convincing.
She said, “My best friend didn’t care about it [the name] at all when I was pregnant. “
After a few days, she texted me out of the blue and said that the name really grew on her and that I absolutely can’t change it because it’s perfect.”
Social media users, however, are divided.

“She will hate you later,” one user commented.
Another user joked: “Can’t wait for her brother Lime.”
“You don’t put a theme on a person!” added someone else.
Some people had more positive things to say.
“I think it’s cool and cute,” Kayla said. Another user added: “Personally, I think it’s a fantastic name.” [sic]
Speaking about the backlash online, Daisy says she is shocked by the “hateful” comments some people left on her post.
She added: “Some of the comments are offensive, but they don’t anger me.
“I’m more surprised that people can make the most hateful comments imaginable about something that doesn’t affect them.”
“For us it is a bright and happy name.
“It fits her perfectly because she is the happiest baby we have had so far.”
