A mother has sparked debate after staging an epic setup for her daughter after she lost her first teeth.
De’Asia explained that her five-year-old daughter had to have some teeth pulled because her adult teeth were ready to come in.
So, to mark the occasion and cheer up her daughter Kah’Mora after the procedure, De’Asia pulled out all the stops for the arrival of ‘Fiona’, the tooth fairy, and shared the results in a Instagram Reel.
She sprinkled glitter on the floor and toilet, with a note on the seat that said: “I hope you don’t mind, I had to spray it, Fiona.”
De’Asia then directed the camera to the sink, which was also covered in glitter.
Next to the sink were some money, fake nails, nail polish, hair ties and My Little Pony, Trolls and Gabby’s Dollhouse toys.
There were also two dolls, mouthwash, toothpaste, a new toothbrush, and a cup and straw.
De’Asia then showed the ‘receipt’ taped to the window, which showed that Kah’Mora had lost two teeth in April.
‘Fiona’ also wrote in the note: “Oh my God, Kah’Mora. Congratulations on losing your first two teeth.
“I know you didn’t lose naturally, but that’s okay – a win is a win.
“I heard you have cavities and that’s not a good thing, please brush and floss your teeth every day.
“In the meantime, enjoy the gifts my friends and I received from TFC. Oh, and absolutely no sweets!
“Until next time!”
While Kah’Mora was clearly moved by the effort her mother put into the setup, De’Asia was also inundated with comments from trolls.
“The tooth fairy is doing soooo much,” wrote one.
“Scattering some petals and leaving a dollar with a special note would have been more magical,” added another.
“That’s just materialism!”
“You guys do too much…” a third said.
“Why with all this shine?” someone asked.
“We don’t need that in our water system. You’ll like glitter until you leave that house!”
“Difficult pass,” said another.
However, others were quick to defend De’Asia, insisting that she just wanted the day to be special for her daughter.
“No way are people that mad about this,” one wrote.
“Why are you guys so pressured about her doing something special for HER son?” another added.
“Emphasis on YOUR SON.”
“This daughter will never have to go to therapy to ‘heal her inner child,’” wrote a third.
“This is what a happy, healthy childhood looks like.
“This is the kind of event she’s been talking about for a long time.”
