They placed a sheet on the floor to collect the contents of the balloon, which was full of confetti indicating whether they were having a boy or a girl.

Father-to-be Steve was in charge of popping the balloon, but had trouble getting the needle to pierce the outside.

His mom then tried to help, trying to make a hole in the balloon with her fingernails.

At this point, the balloon deflated, but the contents remained inside.

The mother-to-be took the balloon and tried to make a bigger hole for the confetti to come out – as people could be heard laughing hysterically in the background.

She managed to make some pink confetti float, with Steve saying, “Oh my God!” when he saw the color.

“It’s a girl?” said one spectator.

He then hugged his baby mama as she fought back tears, before exclaiming: “It wasn’t what I asked for, it was!”

People were quick to comment on TikTok videowith one writing: “This is hilariously tragic. Congratulations!”

“It’s the sheet on the floor for me,” another laughed.

“Glad they put the blanket on the floor!!” someone said.

“A bit of a failure!” another acknowledged.

“It is so bad!” someone wrote.

“I hope she has a safe pregnancy.”

Another comment appeared to be from Mom herself, who had written: “If something didn’t go wrong, it wouldn’t be right for us!”

“Memories that make you laugh but cry are forever!”

The most expensive genre in the world reveals

GENDER reveals are becoming bigger and more elaborate every day, with people constantly thinking of different ways to improve the ones in front of them.

And money is no object for many of these couples – some spend hundreds or thousands on the event.

Read on for some of the most expensive gender reveals in history.

Ste Hamilton

Wealthy property tycoon and YouTuber Ste Hamilton decided to gift his future wife, Isabella Rowles, a £300,000 Lamborghini, which would be pink or blue to reflect the baby’s gender.

Steven and Isabella, friends and family attended an extravagant event at the Belfry Hotel and Resort, near Birmingham, to discover they were having a boy.

“It was worth every second of hard work to see the happiness on everyone’s faces that day,” said Ste, after spending another £40,000 on the big reveal.

Logan Paulo

Wrestling star, YouTuber and fiancée Nina Agdal staged a public fight to reveal their gender.

A wrestler in pink shorts faced off against one in blue, with the one in pink emerging victorious – meaning they are having a girl.

Inga Stumbriene

The Lithuanian influencer rented planes to fly in the sky while she, her fiancé and their loved ones looked on.

Planes dropped a load of blue confetti – revealing the couple were having a boy – but people insisted it was the “most polluted” gender reveal ever.

Anonymous couple

One of the most recent jaw-dropping gender reveals took place in May 2024, when a couple decided to PAINT a waterfall to reveal whether they were having a boy or a girl.

After the videos circulated on social media, the public demanded that the couple be punished, with some suggesting they should go to jail.

Others were concerned about water contamination, as the pair had used a powdered chemical known as “Lagoa Azul” on the Queima-Pe river, which feeds the waterfall.

“I felt more discouraged than the balloon watching this,” joked another person in the comments.

“Funny memory though!”

“I would definitely check to see if it’s definitely a girl coming out of that balloon!” another suggested.

“No one commenting ‘it wasn’t what I asked for, it was’ – I hope he’s talking about the balloon and not his daughter!” someone laughed.

As another wrote: “This, compared to the American versions, is SO BRITISH!”
