But that’s not all, as social media users were even more perplexed that a child would only choose ketchup on her sarnie – yes, you heard that correctly.

Posting online under the username Dougherty Dozen, Alicia, who is from the US and lives in New York, shared her clip with the caption ‘What did you have for lunch today?’

As she prepared sandwiches for her children’s lunchboxes, she said, “Here’s what my 11 kids ate for lunch today.

“Their entree is a sandwich – James and Patrick got tuna, Alex got ham and American cheese, Dayshawn got Peru and cheddar cheese, Zoey got sliced roast chicken, Bree and Harlee got jelly, Dash got PBJ (peanut butter and belly), the twins got marshmallow fluff, and Bodhi got his ketchup sandwich.

“Then I lined up their lunch boxes in order of age and added their sandwich containers.”

After the sandwiches were made and placed in the lunch boxes, Alicia added a drink, vegetables, fruit, and additional snacks.

She continued: “Their drink today is Capri Sun, the vegetable is carrot, the fruit is a littertheir dairy is a YoCrunch yogurt.

“Then I add a spoon, baby wipe, mint, the motivational napkin, some chips and shredded cheese, put it in the penguin ice pack and seal it.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @massa_dozenIt clearly left many speechless as it quickly went viral and racked up an impressive 2.2 million views in just one day.

Social media users were baffled by how Alicia keeps track of all of her children’s food preferences, and many described the snack-preparation process as “dedication.”

Secrets from a nutritionist who will get your children’s lunch boxes right

Rhiannon Lambert, registered dietitian and bestselling author of The Science Of Nutrition, shared her tips for getting school snacks.

Be mindful of how much highly processed or sugary snacks you give them, but occasionally eating chocolate and chips in their lunch box won’t do any harm.

Store-bought sandwich fillings may be the most convenient option, but they are often quite high in sugar and salt. Instead, I make my own.

IF your children have sports and extracurricular clubs, it’s vital to make sure they have enough in their lunchbox.

Include foods with a lower glycemic index – most non-starchy fruits and vegetables (cucumbers, peppers, peas) and whole grains like couscous and oats.

Remember, keep it simple! It’s often easy to overthink things like this, and although children may initially reject new, healthier options, be patient with them. Try to be a role model and encourage them along the way.

At the same time, many social media users were perplexed by some of the sandwich fillings – in particular, the ketchup sandwich.
