Choosing a name for your child is one of the most important decisions a parent will make – and here, one of the main things to consider is finding a nickname that makes them feel special, rather than being criticized by their peers.

But now a mother has come under fire after revealing her daughter’s name, adding that the child is being bullied for it.

Taking to Reddit, the mother said: “She’s coming home from school and saying the kids are making fun of her name.”

The anonymous woman decided to choose a unique name for her daughter and ended up calling her Blayzee.

But, according to her mother, the seven-year-old girl is coming home from school and reporting that other children are making fun of her name.

Seeking advice from other Redditors, the upset father explained the situation and asked himself, “What should I do?

“My seven-year-old daughter’s name is Blayzee and she recently came home from school and said the kids are making fun of her name.

The post quickly took over the platform – but instead of shaming the attackers, many Reddit users criticized the mother for giving her son a name they deemed “stupid.”

“Don’t give yourselves stupid names, kids, just to be ‘special,’” one said.

The person added: “It’s terrible when children are teased. As a mother, you need to admit your mistake.”

“Did you name her that for you or for her? Because it’s not working for her.”
