A MUCH-LOVED Scottish rock band have been hailed “legends” by grateful parents after announcing an unusual gig next month.

The LaFontaines – made up of Kerr Okan, Jamie Keenan and Darren McCaughey – will sing their best songs, including Under the Storm and Alpha, at a soft play center on June 9th.

And the best part? Children can play in the inflatable park while you listen to your favorite songs.

Motherwell frontman Kerr and his TV presenter wife Storm Huntley welcomed son Otis in 2022.

The 35-year-old has since admitted that trying to juggle gigs and kids can be a “problem” – especially for fans.

He said: “You love live music but have kids?

“Who watches you when you go to shows? It’s a problem, isn’t it? Childcare is so expensive.

“I also have this problem on the other side. I’m a father who likes rock.

“So I thought about it. What if we could play the way we always do, and the kids could come and have fun?

“Not because we played Baby Shark and Wheels on the Bus, but because of something they would be moving around like a huge inflatable park.

“Problem solved.”

The quirky show – hailed as “music for adults, gentle play for children” – will take place from 12pm to 1pm at Inflata Nation in Glasgow’s Kinning Park.

We drove three hours to the UK’s biggest soft play, but it was so worth it

Kerr added: “You can come and see your favorite band, which has to be us, we’re the only band playing – and the kids can play for an hour.

“No childcare required, it’s during the day and it’s as cheap as possible.”

With typical concert tickets costing music fans anywhere between £50 and £100 these days, the £10.99 price tag for adults and children over four definitely seems reasonable.

Meanwhile, tickets for youngsters aged three and under are just £6.99.

So it’s no surprise that LaFontaine’s announcement clip was a huge hit with parents, racking up over 60,000 views across social media channels.

“This is a wonderful way to make music inclusive,” said one.

A second said: “This really is the best thing a band has done in so long.”

Someone said, “Ohhhh, it’s happening, daytime shows are becoming a thing.”

A fourth wrote: “I love you for this, I might have to travel for it.”

A fifth added: “Whoever came up with this idea is a legend! It’s sold out, so you should make another slot.”

“This is truly a genius idea,” echoed a sixth.

Meanwhile, one parent pleaded: “Please let this become a thing from now on. I’m about to have my first child and that would be amazing when they’re old enough.”

And if you were worried about being able to hear the inflatables’ music, don’t stress as the band said, “100%. We made sure of that!”

But many other mums and dads were “devastated” to miss the friendly show as tickets sold out very quickly.

If you didn’t buy a ticket, there’s still a chance to see the band in action this year – but you might need to call a babysitter.

The LaFontaines will perform at Barrowland, Glasgow, on September 13th, with tickets on sale this Friday.

This came after the trio announced that they would also play an intimate show at HMV, in the city center, on June 16th.

The small show will celebrate the release of their fourth album, Since You Made a Move – five years after the release of their last, Junior.
