A MUM is helping her daughter do well in her GCSEs by spending hours creating exam-themed breakfasts.
Carla Harris surprised 16-year-old Violet with breakfast in the biology lab set up in the kitchen before her first test.
The cereal was served in a conical flask, the milk in a laboratory beaker, and the table was littered with skeleton props.
For the English, Carla, mother of five, created a Romeo and Juliet themed dish with strawberry roses, star-shaped toast and waffles, as well as lit candles.
Carla, 48, who wears party and Halloween props, said: “I wanted to get Violeta out of the exams with a silly breakfast and eat properly. I have her schedule, so I know what she’s planning.
Violet, from Hockley, Essex, said: “My first exam was biology. When I came down, my mom had a really cute breakfast, prepared with all the trimmings and it was so cute.
“She had all these conical flasks and beakers and test tubes full of cereal and milk.
“She also put rubber mice on the sides and it was really cute and I loved it.
“For my English Literature exam we do Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and this has to be my favorite breakfast so far.
“There were candles everywhere and quotes written in calligraphy.
“My mother carved a rose out of a strawberry and cut stars into toast and waffles. It was crazy and beyond what I expected.
“These breakfasts definitely helped me get good grades in my exams.”
Violet has already taken six tests and says she is looking forward to seeing what her mother comes up with in her last 10 tests, including Spanish, math and physics.
