It doesn’t matter if you’re a celebrity or not — strangers always like to shame moms for their parenting choices.

And one person who knows a little about this is Ellie Jones, who gave birth to her son Tommy when she was just 16.

Reality TV fans may recognize the brunette beauty from Teen Mum UK: Next Generation, who appeared on our screens at the age of 18.

During the show, viewers were able to watch all the drama between her and her boyfriend Luke – the father of her child – as they tried to adjust to their new role as parents.

For Ellie, the pregnancy came as a huge shock as she was on contraceptives and was still at school at the time, meaning she had “no money and no job”, we previously reported.

“Tommy is already two years old, it’s crazy to think I met his dad, Luke, when we were 14.

“We were just a couple of shy kids,” she said on the series.

“Two years later everything changed, when I found out I was pregnant I was already six months old, three months later Tommy was born.”

Earlier this year, the actor revealed there would be an upcoming series – however, Ellie noted that she had made the decision not to appear on the show this year.

“The amount of hate I got — not just hate for me, but hate for Tommy and hate for Luke,” explained Ellie, who has since been separated from her baby daddy.

For the amount of trolling and hate she received, the mother bravely opened up a video on TikTok, it was “not acceptable” and “awful.”

At some point, the mean comments became so nasty that MTV deleted one of the posts from its Instagram page “because it was so bad.”

On the program, the beauty said she was simply being herself – “and people didn’t like that”, something she also concluded on social media.

After approaching the show’s production team, the producers also agreed that returning to the series wouldn’t be the best idea.

”I said yes, […] – because if I went straight back to the second season, after all this shit that happened on social media, I would be harassed, intimidated. It’s disgusting’.”

Although Ellie wished the other mothers nothing but the best, the young woman was convinced that she would be “missed” as she was “a great character”.

”I was – everyone says that to me all the time.

“But that’s why I’m not in it – because of all the hate I got.

What help is available for parents?

CHILD CARE can be an expensive business. Here’s how you can get help.

  • 30 hours of free childcare – Parents of children aged three and four can request 30 hours of free childcare per week.
To qualify, you must generally work at least 16 hours a week at the national wage or minimum wage and earn less than £100,000 a year.
  • Tax credits – For children under 20, some families may be able to get help with child care costs.
  • Daycare voucher – If your employer offers childcare vouchers, you could get up to £55 a week in tax and national insurance savings.
You pay for your children’s care before your tax contributions are withdrawn.
This scheme is open to new enrollees until 4 October 2018, when tax-free childcare is expected to replace vouchers.
  • Tax-free daycare – Available to working families and the self-employed, for every £8 you put into the government, an extra £2 will be added.

“It wasn’t about me getting fired – it wasn’t about all this shit that’s going on out there.”

The young mother, who posts regularly under the username @jones.ellieeShe was also brutally embarrassed after her son Tommy grabbed one of her vaporizers – which was thankfully empty.

Responding to critics, Ellie told those criticizing the mothers to just “get over it”.

In the meantime, though, the young mother wished the other parents “well” and noted that the upcoming series looked “amazing.”
