On Reddit, the woman revealed that a family friend recently adopted a daughter.

After adopting the child, they decided to give him an incredibly unusual name, ABCDE.

The woman revealed that the name should be pronounced “absidy,” which in itself is a pretty unique nickname.

Conveniently, the parents’ last name starts with F, which means the child is called ABCDE F.

The woman said: “I have a family friend (they are friends of my parents) and they named their adopted daughter “ABCDE” and their last names conveniently start with “F”.

The girl’s name should sound like ‘absidy’.

“I can’t help but feel bad for the poor baby, she’s not much older than 4 or 5.”

The name sent Reddit viewers into a frenzy, and people rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One person said: “I’m so glad I was born and raised in Germany where names like this are illegal.”

A second person joked: “Meet my daughter, Abcde, and my son, Qwerty.”

Viral baby name sparks online debate

A third said: “I worked in a pharmacy and someone’s first name was pronounced Noelle.

“It said ‘JKMNO’ because it has ‘No L’ and I wish I was joking”.

A fourth chimed in: “Seriously, there needs to be a law to protect children from this!

“I have a feeling that anyone named James, or Sarah, or anything normal, will be the ones with unusual names in the future.”
