Whitney, who recently revealed she earned more than £13,500 last month alone thanks to being an influencer, took to social media to express her frustration, leaving many speechless.

Posting online, the content creator said: “I received a letter from the school – it says, ‘request for leave for Cora, my daughter. I am writing to let you know that your son’s leave has not been authorized.’”

Whitney then clapped back and added, “Okay, I know you’re not authorizing it, but you can have strike days whenever you want and just leave them on us parents, but, yeah, anyway.”

The mother then continued to read the letter, which explained: “I would like to advise that if you proceed with this leave and Cora’s attendance falls between 95% and 95.2% over the previous 12 months as a result of this, I will request that the local authority issue a fixed penalty notice of £60 per parent per child if paid within 21 days, increasing to £120 per parent.”

Clearly shocked by the letter, Whitney gasped, “Excuse me?”

She then replied, “Well, next whenever you decide to have random strike days it will be £60 per child.

If I want to take my child out of school, I will take my child out of school

“You know, you’re leaving parents broke, having to take days off from school because there are random strike days.”

Whitney begged her followers: “Guys, make me congresswoman this country! Make me deputy!

“I will not accept this. If I want to take my child out of school, I will take my child out of school.

“He’s my son, right? She’s getting more education around the world than she did at school, so shut up!

I live in a council house but I earned £17k this month

Not only that, but Whitney also expressed, “Or you know, when you put her in isolation because she’s wearing shoes she shouldn’t be wearing, or she has her ears pierced or something, and you put her in isolation. How about backing off?

The TikTok clip, which was shared just two days ago under the username @suamebadmotherIt clearly left many speechless as it quickly racked up 63,800 views.

What school fines can parents receive?

The main issue that can lead to parents being fined is absence from school.

Currently, it is up to the local council to decide whether or not to impose a fine on parents for their child’s absence from school.

However, from August this year, the fine for absences will be up to the school to consider – when a child misses 10 or more sessions for unauthorized reasons.

The minimum fine will increase from £60 to £80 per parent as part of a government drive to return attendance to pre-pandemic levels.

And the fine will be £80 if paid within 21 days, or £160 if paid within 28 days.

It is the first time that the fine has been increased since 2012 and is in line with inflation.

If a parent receives a second fine for the same child within three years, it will automatically be charged at the higher rate of £160.

Fines will be limited to two fines in a three-year period.

Once this threshold has been reached, proceedings or a parenting order may be considered.

According to the official government website, There are only five reasons why your child should miss school if school is open.

They are the following:

  1. Your child is too sick to attend that day
  2. You requested in advance and received permission from the school for your child to be absent that day due to exceptional circumstances
  3. Your child cannot attend school on that day because it is a day when you participate in religious activities
  4. The local authority is responsible for arranging transport for your child to school and this is not available that day or has not yet been provided
  5. You are a gypsy/traveller family with no fixed abode and are required to travel for work that day, which means your child will not be able to attend their usual school

Social media users could understand Whitney’s frustration and many took to the comments to share their thoughts.

One person said: “It’s becoming a joke with these fines.”

Another added: “Well said darling.”

A third commented: “They are robbing you.”

Meanwhile, someone else wrote: “Totally agree with you on this.”

At the same time, another user agreed: “You are right in what you say, it is disgusting to pay a fine.”

While one parent wrote: “Fines for taking your kids out of school? This is crazy! We don’t have that in Scotland.”
