A self-proclaimed “poor AF” single dad has shared how he feeds his family for just £2.08.
The London father, who said he was “struggling” because of the cost of living crisis, revealed how he feeds his children without having to break the bank.
Posting on social media, the content creator shared how he turns two cans of Asda into a meal for three – but people were left open-mouthed.
The dad shared his clip online with the caption ‘Feeding my kids on a low budget’.
He then said: “Feeding my children on a budget of £2.08 as a poor single parent.”
At the start of the clip, the dad revealed he had just £2.08 to spend, as he gave his followers an up-close look at his pennies and 5p coins.
The dad then went to Asda to buy some groceries – where he packed a tin of mince and onions and a tin of potatoes, which cost just 38p, both from the chain’s Just Essentials range.
Upon arriving home, the father prepared dinner for the family.
He placed the canned mince in a pan, seasoned it with salt, and then added a generous knob of butter.
He then cooked the canned potatoes in the microwave and, when done, quickly mashed them with a fork.
The father served the quick and easy meal – a portion of mash and minced meat, and added a piece of white bread.
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @tok_economiasIt clearly left many speechless as it quickly went viral and has since racked up 1.2 million views in just one week.
BIG DIVISION
But social media users were divided – while some praised their budget-friendly meal, others were horrified by the dish.
One person said: “I love these ideas! I’m a nursing student so budgeting is sometimes difficult, thanks for sharing.”
Another added: “You are doing great.”
A third commented: “Master chef on a budget. You, sir, you are a chef at heart.
I wouldn’t give this to my dog

However, at the same time, not everyone was so kind.
One user said: “I’d rather starve than eat this.”
A second wrote: “I wouldn’t give this to my dog.”
While another person wrote: “Disgrace.”

‘CLEANING IS ANOTHER’
Meanwhile, others were eager to advise the man to clean his house.
One cleaning fan shared: “I could clean the stove and microwave.”
