A FATHER shocked people by showing how messy his daughter’s room is.

He used TikTok to share a video in which he tried to enter his daughter’s room, but had difficulty even opening the door properly.

“Am I the only person with a daughter who lives like this?” he wrote over the clip.

He also added the hashtags “#stigofthedump #bewarned #daughters.”

As soon as he entered the room, he showed the huge piles of clothes spread across the floor.

He then turned the camera to photograph the clothes, as well as the closet where her clothes “should” be stored.

On the dresser was a cup of iced coffee, still half full, as well as several empty cans of Diet Coke.

He turned the camera to show the window sill, which had some plants, as well as more trash.

And then he showed the bed.

There was barely an inch of clean space on top of the mattress, with the rest of the bed covered in clothes, bags, and more trash.

“There it is… it’s beautiful, isn’t it?” he said.

He concluded the video by adding, “Yeah, I told you it was a little difficult!”

Everyone can see the clothes in the messy room, but can you spot the diamond ring?

The comments section was almost immediately filled with people commenting on the mess in the room, with many insisting they wouldn’t allow it in their homes.

“Not in my house!! No chance,” wrote one person.

“Exactly – mine wouldn’t dare,” agreed another.

“If you let it, this is what you’ll end up with.”

“Absolutely no excuse for this, it’s dismal,” commented a third.

Should parents charge their children rent?

Sarah Bull, mother of two and fabulous senior digital reporter, weighed in on parents who charge their kids rent. She explained:

“Children are expensive! This is a fact, and anyone entering the world of parenthood will be aware.
“However, with the cost of living crisis hitting hard, it is becoming increasingly difficult for many people to care for their children in the current climate.
“So, some mothers and fathers started charging their children rent.
“I understand the concept. After all, it might be enough to cover a McDonald’s dinner for them or a trip to the pound shop.
“It also helps teach them about money and can improve their math skills.
“But it’s not something I plan on implementing for my children.
“In my opinion, kids should be kids. And since paying rent is something they may have to worry about in the future, I certainly don’t want them worrying about where their rent is coming from at this age.

“Sorry, but no, she’s not leaving the house until this is resolved,” said another person.

“Definitely not in my house – I wouldn’t tolerate that,” insisted another.

“No, because I wouldn’t allow it,” another person added.

“OMG I couldn’t handle this,” admitted another.

But others said they completely identified with their father’s situation.

“My daughter’s room is a complete mess,” wrote one.

“Eating is not allowed.

“It’s her space and I just close the door. Closed door = no stress!”

“My daughter’s is exactly the same,” said another.

“Nothing to do with the way she was raised.

“I have three children and she is the only one like that.

“I feel your pain!”

“My daughter’s room is similar,” admitted a third.

“After years of stress, arguments and cleaning, now I simply close the door.”
