A mother has hit back at critics who criticized her decision to send her two daughters away for seven weeks over the summer.
It seems like not a day goes by without a mother being criticized for something – and someone who knows a little about this is US-based mum Rachael Potash.

She recently rushed to her own defense in a chat with Peopleafter TikTok videos chronicling his regular airport farewell angered several people on the platform.
Faced with comments calling her a “bad mother”, Rachael told the publication how she was “shocked” by the negative response online.
The now-viral series shows the mother enjoying time with her two children before saying goodbye to them for almost two months.
The daughters, aged 11 and 13, seemed as excited as their parents about their long stay away from home.
After taking over the internet, Rachael hit back at the trolls and explained what had happened.
”I started sharing how I spend time with my daughters and what we do before they leave for the summer.
“It was a beautiful thing that I made their favorite dinner at their last dinner and had their stepsister come over when it wasn’t her week yet to come and say goodbye to them.
“It was about making these moments with my kids really special, and it turned into “You’re a terrible dad for sending them away for seven weeks,” the mom said.
In the interview, Rachael revealed how the girls’ father sadly died four years ago, and was also a big fan of sleepaway camps.
Speaking of her late husband, the mother said her ex-husband “grew up going to sleepaway camp.”
At first she ”couldn’t believe it” and struggled to understand the concept of ”leaving the house all summer” – however, her late partner always told her it was ”the best time” of her life. from him.
Happily embarking on a staycation in Maine last month, it appeared both girls agreed — and Rachael has since shared her thoughts on the criticism.
”I made a video in response, making fun of the backlash I was getting and how crazy it was to me. Who should tell another parent what they should or shouldn’t do?”
The mother added that she was “happy” to have started a conversation “because it’s important to talk about this and open some people’s minds about what is actually healthy for a child.”

The mom also insisted that more parents should be open to these types of camps as kids are out in nature, finally away from their smartphones and other devices they seem to be glued to.
”These girls are experiencing life by living in the moment, making marshmallows, water skiing and making lifelong friendships.”
