A WOMAN has sparked a heated debate over what is appropriate for mothers to wear on school trips.

Although there is no dress code for parents taking their children to school, some clearly believe there should be.

O anonymous my mother took to social media asking why some people worry about getting ready just to take their children to school.

Even though I said I wasn’t judging anyone, those who saw the post didn’t understand it that way.

Mom said: “Makeup and dress code for the school trip: necessary or not?”

“I’m not judging anyone; I’m genuinely interested in why some mothers choose this approach.”

She revealed that she wasn’t sure why anyone would do that unless they worked right after.

The mom added, “Aside from moms who go straight to work or have commitments right after, do any of you worry about makeup and make an effort to dress up for school?

“Especially if you’re coming home later?”

The matriarch went on to explain that she always makes sure to look presentable. “I always make sure I shower and am dressed nicely every morning.”

But she didn’t bother to explain the makeup: “I don’t see the point in applying makeup when it seems unnecessary.”

She went on to say that she usually wore leggings or jeans with a t-shirt as she didn’t have time to get ready.

‘Now it’s bullying’, mother rages as her daughter makes four major changes to fit school uniform rules, but STILL gets detained

Although she insisted she wasn’t judging mothers who wore makeup, many Mothers Network users were offended and said she was definitely mocking them.

One person wrote: “Why is this important to you? Getting dressed and wearing makeup makes me feel ready for the day, even if I’m not working or going out.

“Fine, if you’d rather not, I couldn’t care less. I always love the more judgmental posts that start with ‘I’m not judging…'”

Another commented: “Does it matter? I really don’t think that here in the real world anyone cares what other parents are wearing.”

Is there a dress code for school?

While students and teachers have strict dress codes and uniform policies in the UK, there is nothing in place for parents.

Going to the local school, you will see a mixed group of mothers who like to dress up for the occasion and others who have rolled out of bed in their pajamas.

While there is no set policy for parents, there is of course a limit to what you can wear without raising a few eyebrows.

Bikinis and robes are sure to turn heads, but ultimately it’s up to you.

“What does it matter? I like wearing a little makeup, I feel like I got up properly, got dressed and ready for the day. It takes five minutes,” wrote a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “You are absolutely judgemental. Come on now…”

“Maybe they work the night shift and just got out of bed, you don’t know and you shouldn’t judge. Still, you are, despite saying you’re not,” said a fifth.

Another person added: “I don’t leave the house without makeup because of the acne I have throughout my life – maybe I should be okay with having it all on display, but I’m not. I’m not interested in anyone’s judgment.”

The mum responded to people’s comments, writing: I’m not suggesting everyone should be parading, but it would be wise to wear something more appropriate than clothes that look like they’ve just rolled out of bed.”
