She said she recently went abroad and found it extremely “painful” having to meet each child’s needs.

Additionally, she explained that she feels like she is “wasting” time with her two older children because she is constantly dealing with her 18-month-old son, who “never stops.”

The mother took to social media to talk about her situation, leaving many speechless.

Posting on Reddit, under @am_eu_being_irrational topic, the mother titled her post: “Regretting having a third child.”

Sharing her story under the username @Newusername3kidss, the anonymous woman revealed: “I know I’m being irrational because kids are a blessing and he was very sweet, but honestly if I could go back I wouldn’t have a third.

“They are eight, six and 18 months old and everything is a lot of work because of the younger ones.”

The frustrated mom then shared her recent vacation experience, as she continued:

“I went on vacation last week and from the flight to every meal and every painful bedtime, all I thought was that we would be having so much fun if it was just the four of us.

“My older boys are at a brilliant stage where they are a bit independent but also want to spend time with me and I feel like I’m missing out on so much as so much of my time and effort is spent with the younger ones, which just never stops. .”

The mother pleaded with Reddit users: “If anyone has been in a similar situation, please tell me it makes it easier because I’m sinking at the moment.

I regret my 2 month old daughter’s name – it feels strange saying it out loud, I usually just refer to her as ‘baby’

“We had such a great dynamic between the four of us and I feel like instead of “completing” our family, having a third just ruined everything.”

REDDIT USER REACTION

Reddit users were stunned by the woman’s confession and many rushed to the comments to share messages of love and support for the struggling mother.

One person said: “Totally normal! There should be more warnings about having a third party!!!

“It’s total carnage. No money, no time, the house is always a mess.”

Another year or two and it will be completely different. Stay strong!

Reddit user

Another added: “I think it’s a pretty common story (not that it helps if it’s happening to you).

“It will soon get easier, and then harder again as the older ones reach their teens. After that, the gap will get smaller and smaller.”

A third commented: “I think it’s just your third’s age.

“Another year or two and it will be completely different. Hang in there!”

Different Parenting Styles Explained

There are four recognized parenting styles explained below:

Authoritative Parenting

What some might describe as “regimental” or “strict” parenting.

Parents with this style focus on strict rules, obedience, and discipline.

Authoritarian parents assume decision-making power, rarely giving their children any input on the matter.

When it comes to rules, you believe it’s “my way or the highway.”

Permissive Parenting

Often referred to as ‘soft parenting’ or ‘yes moms/dads’.

Permissive parents are tolerant and only intervene when there is a serious problem.

They are very forgiving and adopt a “kids will be kids” attitude.

They often act more like friends than authority figures.

Authorized Parenthood

Authoritarian parents provide rules and limits to their children, but they also give them freedom to make decisions.

With an authoritarian parenting style, parents validate their children’s feelings while making it clear that adults are ultimately in charge.

They use positive reinforcement techniques, such as praise and reward systems, as opposed to harsh punishments.

Neglectful or uninvolved parenting

Essentially, neglectful parents ignore their children, who receive little guidance, affection and attention from their parents.

They don’t set rules or expectations and tend to have minimal knowledge about what their children are doing.

Uninvolved parents expect their children to raise themselves. They don’t devote much time or energy to meeting children’s basic needs.

Uninvolved parents can be negligent, but it is not always intentional. A parent with mental health or substance abuse issues, for example, may not be able to consistently care for a child’s physical or emotional needs.

Meanwhile, another person asked: “Do you have a partner? If yes, tag team/divide and conquer.

“And make sure he’s not always taking the big ones to do fun things while you’re always “stuck” with the little one.”

However, at the same time, others questioned why she chose to have a third child.

Why the hell did you have a third one?

Reddit user

One user wrote: “It would always be harder with three instead of two. Surely you knew that!

A second chimed in: “Please, wasn’t this thought of before the decision was made to have a third party?

“It was certainly obvious that you would have to start over from babyhood while the older two became more independent.”

While another questioned: “Why Earth Did you have a third? You already know what this entails as a mother of two.
