A WOMAN who became pregnant at 13 has recalled some of the horrible things people said to her at the time.

Meg had no doubts when she found out she hoped to keep the baby.

However, not everyone agreed – as she explained in a video on her TikTok page.

“Me at 13 – ‘I’m pregnant and I’m keeping the baby,’” she wrote at the top of the clip.

But comments from others included “You are too young”, “You will ruin your life” and “You will regret it later in life”.

One person even told Meg, “You better get rid of it.”

“Seven years later,” she wrote at the top of the clip, which showed son Teddie as he is now – seven years old and holding his little sister, Ivy.

“7 years later and we’ve proven everyone wrong, my boy!” she added in the caption.

“Oh my God, Megan, I remember all the hate, now look at you!” one person commented on the video.

“So proud of you, girl!”

“Being a father is not easy,” added another.

“Congratulations on proving that it’s a matter of maternal instinct and not age!

I got pregnant at 13, but I don’t regret it – I’m fooled by being a teenage mother, but I’m no longer ashamed

“I was 17 when I got pregnant with my first child and I got all the looks and comments too.”

“Do I think he’s young? Yes! Should I judge? No!!!!” a third commented.

“I’m glad you came out the other side and survived – absolutely being a parent is not easy.

“Hats off to you girl – go live that life.”

“Thank you so much! It means a lot!” Meg replied.

“I lost a lot of people, including family members, but it was all worth it for him.”

“You were always meant to have Ted,” another added.

UK Teenage Mother Statistics

Teenage pregnancy in the UK has fallen considerably since 2007…

Conception rate in under-18s has declined considerably since 2007, reports Nuffield Trust.

Between 2007 and 2021, the under-18 conception rate in England and Wales fell by 68%, from 42 per 1,000 women to 13 per 1,000 women.

This resulted in 13,131 under-18 conceptions in England and Wales in 2021.

With Meg responding, “I agree. I’m sure of that.”

In another video on TikTok, Meg explained some of the things she loved about being a teen mom, including being able to “explore” with her son and see him “smile doing the things you love.”

“I see you succeed in your life goals,” she continued, adding that she loves being the “fun mom.”

“I see you becoming the best big brother you could be,” she concluded.
