A mum has revealed the strict rules she has when it comes to her six-year-old son using certain words.
Bunny Hedaya from the US revealed he didn’t mind his son using swear words, but had six “normal” words he was never allowed to say.
On social media, she said: “I don’t care if my son swears and I want you to listen to me because I think it’s going to be a hot scene.
“But I hope most people agree with me. Obviously, my son just doesn’t go around swearing, right? But he knows he won’t get in trouble if he does.”
The mother said there was a slight difference between using swear words to show emotion and using them to insult other people.
Drawing on the example of dropping something on the floor, Bunny explained that she doesn’t really care if her child says ‘oh shit’ because it comes from ’emotion’.
Whereas calling someone a ‘piece of shit’ is a whole different ballgame and gets a different reaction.
Bunny then revealed the six words she wouldn’t allow, claiming they were too negative to use.
She continued, “Now, the words that I don’t allow him to say are harder to implement because he’s older now… But I don’t allow, like, if he’s on the phone and I hear those words, he’s [got to] to switch off.
The mother added that these words have ‘energy’ and the more they are used, the more you manifest negative energy around you – which is why she banned them.
Believe it or not, these banned words are: ‘stupid’, ‘idiot’, ‘loser’, ‘lame’ and ‘die’ or ‘kill’.
Bunny herself even hesitated to say the last two out loud, spelling them phonetically. In the caption, she asked: “Do you agree?”
The clip posted to his TikTok account @Little bunny It has since gone viral with over 528,000 views and 45,000 likes.
People who accepted the comments mostly agreed with Mom’s rule about forbidden words.
One person wrote: “Yes. We may swear in this house, but we don’t swear at people.”
Another commented, “I agree with your perspective that your words create your reality.”
“HATE is a huge problem for me,” wrote a third.
A mother comments on forbidden words
HOW a mother reveals the words “stupid, idiot, loser, lame, die, kill
“As a child, my parents were quite strict about the things we could and couldn’t say. “Shut up” or “sold out” were forbidden, although we would never have thought to say anything more than that.
And since becoming a mother, it’s something I’ve tried to instill in my children too. After being bullied at school, I know the effect words can have and I would never want my children to be responsible for hurting someone with their words.
They know better than to call anyone “stupid” or a “loser.”
And I would never want to hear them say “kill” or “die.” In fact, even when playing video games, my 10-year-old son knows not to say “die” or “kill.”
For me personally, it’s important that they think carefully about their word choice, so I agree with having strict rules about the language used at home.
Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Love this take! I don’t think you can stop someone from swearing, but you can stop them from speaking badly about others or themselves!”
“It’s BORED in my house. Never say bored!” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “Totally agree. We allow our boys to swear as long as they are at home and use the word correctly and are not directed at someone else.”
