In a video that has already racked up more than 1,800 likes, she shared: “I said I wasn’t going to do any more of this but I found a cute box.

“Let me show you exactly how I used this box and where I got it from.

“There are two cupcake boxes that come with the insert. You obviously don’t need to use them.

“These are from B&M and were £2.50 for two.”

Cathryn showed how she placed thick cardboard at the bottom to stop the “heavy” jam and Prosecco from falling out.

The mother continued: “So yes, I added some napkins and a tissue just because it was a bigger box, just to fill it up a little more.

“Then we put afternoon tea: scones, prosecco, jam and some tea bags in this one.

“I forgot to get the cream this morningso I need to go back and get this, but either way, the cream is going to go in here.

“That was just to show what it would be like.

Then I put the cover on and put a bow on it. Wonderful! Done!”

I’m a savvy shopper and have found the best end of year gifts for teachers at Home Bargains – they’re just £1.99

For those who ask where she got the mini Bottles of Prosecco, she said she found £1.50 bottles at Savers.

Many people were quick to praise the idea, including some teachers.

One said, “I’m a teacher and I would love that.”

Another added: “Amazing idea!”

Many parents said they would copy the holiday gifts for their own children’s schools.

One said: “I absolutely love this idea and will be doing this for my kids’ nursery teachers! How cute!”

Meanwhile, one commented: “I have so many birthdays coming up, I’m going to do this!”

Should you buy a gift for a teacher?

IF you’re wondering whether or not you should buy a holiday gift for your child’s teacher, look no further…

As the summer holidays approach, fabulous senior digital writer and mum-of-two Sarah Bull weighs in on whether you should feel obliged to buy your children’s teachers a gift to mark the end of term.

Sarah said: “It can be expensive trying to keep children entertained for six weeks out of school.

“But before the end of term, parents across the country are also trying to budget for gifts for their children’s teachers.

“With teachers, teaching assistants, SEN specialists and other well-loved staff to shop for, it can be an expensive business.

“And while many schools actively discourage parents from spending their money on end-of-year gifts for teachers, I consider it an obligation.

“After all – I know how tough my kids can be at home, and their teachers have to keep them under control most of the day – so don’t they deserve a token of appreciation?

“I also wouldn’t want my children to feel left out when their friends arrive at school armed with presses for their teachers.

“While some parents come away with gifts, with alcohol and flowers popular choices, I will do my best to stay within the £5 mark for each of the four members of staff I will buy for.

“And with some fabulous options in stores like Poundland, Home Bargains and B&M, it should be easy for me to stick to my budget.”

If you’re wondering what to give your child’s teacher as an end of the year gift, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

With many schools in the UK set to end their six-week holiday very soon, thinking about what to buy a teacher to say thank you for their hard work is a challenging decision for many parents.

And particularly with the cost of living crisis making many of our purses feel tighter than ever, if you don’t want to waste money on a gift that your child’s teacher won’t like or use, then you’ll need to take notes.

Luckily, a former teacher made the decision a little easier — and revealed the gifts teachers don’t want to receive.

Posting on social media, Sidnie, a former nursery teacher from the US, revealed the gifts teachers can’t stand, leaving many completely stunned.

Sidnie confirmed that while she and many of her teacher friends don’t want to receive candles, they also can’t stand teacher mugs.

Instead, Sidnie continued, “What they want is money and gift cards – Target gift cards, coffee gift cards, cash – please do that.

“Even a handwritten note is better than junk.”

Sidnie later wrote: “If you know them well and know they like something specific, that’s great! But if you don’t, cash and gift cards are best.”
