Liv Johnston, a young mum from the UK who recently revealed that she lets her two-year-old daughter stay up until 10pm watching movies, has shared her top tips that will ensure you have the most fun and save loads of money at the same time. next go on vacation to Haven.

Posting on social media, Liv said: “’I don’t know why anyone likes a caravan holiday’ was something I used to say before we went on our first caravan holiday.

“So if you’re heading to Haven soon, here are some of my top tips while you’re there.”

Liv explained that first you need to “download the Haven app”.

She advised: “Here you can book all your activities in advance, you get your own beautiful countdown and realistically, this is where you will find all the information for your vacation.”

Secondly, Liv highlighted the importance of “taking advantage of free activities”.

She added: “I spent a lot on activities last time and to be honest, the cheapest or free activities were probably our favourites.

“Some that I recommend that are free or very cheap are sand art, golf or swimming.”

Additionally, Liv explained that to save time and hassle, you can have your food purchases delivered directly to your caravan door.

She continued: “This is something we learned after our first trip and will use on our second trip, but it’s for making a grocery delivery to your caravan.

“Our plan was to actually fill up the car and bring all the shopping with us, but that’s going to take up a lot of space in the car, so it makes sense to have it delivered straight to your RV door.”

Following this, this experienced mum explained that visitors to Haven should also “enjoy the surrounding areas”.

Tips for a stress-free vacation with kids

PARENTS have learned three ways they can make family holidays with kids so much easier.

Three experts gave advice on what to do to make your holiday as stress-free as possible.

Family holidays are always exciting, but having children of a certain age can mean things are more difficult than they need to be.

Thanks to Travel weeklyHere are three ways those with young children can have the best vacation possible.

Clarisse Chapolard, responsible for supervising and looking after Club Med customers, says booking flights outside peak times ensures a quieter plane and airport – providing a more comfortable experience.

“In general, staff will also be more available to help,” she adds. “Flights can be the biggest headache for young children, so travel short distances whenever possible.”

Clarisse also recommends making sure there are activities close to your accommodation to keep the kids happy.

Having a child-friendly hotel can make all the difference on a family holiday, especially when parents are looking for some time for themselves.

Martinhal Resorts founder and chief executive Chitra Stern said: “Accommodation needs to be child-friendly and safe, but also stylish and comfortable for parents.”

Finding a location with bed guards, stair gates, bathroom steps, and furniture with rounded edges will prevent unnecessary injuries or accidents.

Alan Cross, director of travel agent relations at Jet2holidays, recommended that parents look at holiday packages for peace of mind, ease and security.

“Families with young children may appreciate dedicated facilities such as kids’ clubs, paddling pools, crèches, playgrounds, cots and high chairs,” he said.

Package offers can also include free places for children, offers for single parents and discount codes, catering for more than a standard family of four.

Liv shared: “While there is plenty to do on site, there are also plenty of things you can do off site, and that’s definitely something we’ll be taking advantage of in September as we don’t actually have a lot of activities in store.”

Finally, to ensure your trip is as fun as possible, Liv recommended: “And the last tip is if you want to do activities, book in advance.”

Five ways to keep your kids cool in the heat

It can be very difficult – and expensive – to keep kids cool when it’s hot outside. But Fabulous Digital Senior Reporter and mom of two Sarah Bull shares five ways you can help, and they won’t break the bank either.

Take them off

It may seem simple, but getting kids out of the house can really help them regulate their temperature when it’s hot outside. Just remember to apply sunscreen regularly as more of your skin will be exposed to the sun.

Cool rooms before dark

When it’s hot outside, it can be hard for kids to sleep — especially if their room feels like an oven. If you have a room that doesn’t receive direct sunlight, keep the windows open to let in the breeze. It’s also a good idea to keep the curtains closed to prevent the room from getting hot.

Wear a hat

Another simple technique, but one that really works. Make sure that if your children are playing outside, they are wearing a hat. It keeps your face and head protected from the sun and also helps if you have a child who struggles with bright sunlight. If your child has trouble keeping their hat on, try one with a strap that goes under their chin to help.

Avoid the car

The car can be one of the hottest places during a heatwave and it often takes a long time to cool down. If you have the option, it’s better to stay home than take the kids everywhere in a hot car.

Stay hydrated

This is always important, but even more so in a heatwave. Remember to regularly remind your children to have a drink and top them up with cold liquids whenever you can. Use ice as well to ensure it is as cold as possible.

One person said: “Great tips!”

Another added: “Love a Haven holiday!”

A third commented: “[From] someone who works and lives in a holiday caravan park… could it be worth buying Uber Eats from outside the park.

“We had Papa Johns in ours and it was double the price of the one down the road.”
