A mum has been warned about her favorite baby name as many people say she will be bullied for the rest of her life.

Choosing the right name for your baby is not an easy task, especially when everyone has an opinion about it.

On social media, the mother-of-one said she was choosing a name for her second child, but this time she had no inspiration.

Taking to Mothers Networkshe said: “Expecting my second child and this time completely not knowing the names.

“It turns out I used one of the only names I really liked for my first child and now I can’t think of anything that sparks joy.

“The name of the first child is biblical, recognizable as a well-known name but not very common today.”

The mother was expecting a girl and only had one name she could use, Galilee.

She continued: “Pronounced “Gal-il-ey-ah” (i.e. a female version of Galilee, as in Sea of Galilee. Like the female version of Galileo).”

Although she loved the name, she knew it wasn’t popular in the UK and wondered if it would cause problems.

The mother added: “I like Galilee, but it is very unusual in English-speaking countries. I believe it is more common in Mexico, but we have no ties to Mexico.”

Although the mother had her concerns, it seemed like she had completely missed an issue with the name and people were quick to let her know about it.

Mumsnet users said the name would only end with people bullying their daughter, as it was too similar to the lyrics to Queen’s 1975 hit Bohemian Rhapsody.

One person wrote: “Yes, people will sing Queen to her forever. Her friends’ parents will laugh about it behind closed doors.

Another commented: “In the UK everyone will think about the Queen bohemian rhapsody music?”

“Sorry, I thought about Queen too,” wrote a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Absolutely not.”

Are unique baby names worth it?

The Fabulous deputy editor reveals the turmoil she faced with her own name growing up.

When I was a kid, all I wanted was one of those personalized keychains with my name on it.

But no joy, the closest I could find was Rosie, Joseph (not very good for a girl) and Joanne.

Josie is short for Josephine, which is a French name, and I managed to reach my 20s without ever meeting anyone who shared it.

When I try to introduce myself to people, I get all sorts of random things – like Tracey and Stacey – which can be really annoying.

Although I’ve come into contact with a few Josies over the past year – there seem to be a few of us around my age – it’s still a much rarer name than most of my friends.

Overall I don’t mind it, at least it’s not rude or poorly written.

And that means I can get away with ‘doing a Cheryl’ and just referring to myself as Josie.

I’m getting married this year and some friends are shocked that I’m changing my surname, as it’s not seen as very cool or feminist to do so these days, but I explain to them that I’m not as attached to Griffiths as I always said’ hi, it’s Josie’ when calling a friend.

I think it’s good to be unique and I will definitely try to replicate that when naming my own children.

It’s the rude names you have to watch out for, so after nine years as a lifestyle journalist, I’ll definitely avoid them.

“Sorry, I don’t like it, I think it could be a disease/medical term,” said a fifth.

Someone else added: “Sorry OP, bohemian rhapsody was also the first thing that came to mind.”
