KEEPING your kids entertained during the summer holidays isn’t easy.
Not only do you have to constantly think of new activities to do, but it can also get very expensive.
Last year TrustPilot research found that parents spend an average of £635 on summer holidays on days off.
But one mom found a clever way to keep the whole family having fun throughout the day.
Georgie took to social media to share her free day with her followers and it seemed like everyone enjoyed it.
She said, “Guys, if you’re looking for something free to do over your summer vacation, Pets at Home has these free handling sessions.”
You can book the session online at your local store and sessions run until September 1st, so you’ll have plenty of time to get a spot.
Each child participating in the event must register for the sessions and they will be able to have practical experience with some of the animals.
In the clip, the entire group of kids had fun holding and petting guinea pigs and hamsters.
The event lasts 45 minutes, but Georgie revealed that in the end they managed to spend an hour with the animals.
In addition to cuddling with a bunch of animals, kids can also equip their cages with bedding boxes.
Straw and flowers are included in the box to keep the animals entertained, and children can also feed them some vegetables.
At the end, children also receive a goodie box to take home, which includes activity sheets and a My Pet Pals certificate.
Bosses in Pets at home say: “Our My Pet Pals workshops help teach children how rewarding pets can be and how to care for them, ensuring you and your children are all informed about pet welfare and responsible pet ownership pet care – you’ll get a truly hands-on approach to pet care.”
The website states that the workshop is best for children aged four and up, but Georgie brought her one year old and said everyone had a great time, and it definitely seemed that way.
The clip went viral on his TikTok account @georgiescloset1 with more than 387 thousand views and 13 thousand likes.
