A WOMAN has been criticized after revealing she would like to name her baby after her favorite vegetable.

Trolls told her the name was “ugly,” and one even described it as a “sin.”

Choosing a name for your child can be tricky, you want to find something that is unique enough to make them feel special, but not so much that they will be bothered at school.

Taking to Reddita woman revealed the unconventional inspiration for her future child’s name.

She said she would love to name her daughter Allicin.

Explaining the reason for this, she said, “Let me explain the meaning behind this name.

“Garlic. I love garlic. I love garlic.

“Allicin is one of the main compounds in garlic and is incredibly healthy and delicious.”

She added that Allicin is pronounced like the popular girl’s name Alison.”

The post was flooded with responses from Reddit users, many of whom were confused as to why she didn’t just name the baby Alison.

One person said: “If it looks like Allison, call her Allison?”

A second person said: “It looks like medicine: penicillin. Or poison: ricin.

“Don’t do that, it’s so ugly.”

A third person said, “That’s a sin.”

A fourth person added: “I see no logic between you liking garlic and your son’s name.

“I don’t mean this as a judgment, but when it comes to naming a child, why should it matter what your personal interests are?”

Names banned in the UK

The UK has no law restricting names, but names that contain obscenities, numerals, misleading titles or are impossible to pronounce are likely to be rejected when registering a child.
