Social media users were horrified to see a birth announcement sign, immediately realizing that the nickname sounded very “rude”.

Parents will know that finding their newborn’s name takes a lot of time and effort – while some want it to sound good, others are looking for a nickname with meaning.

But most importantly, you should probably choose a name that your child won’t be teased and bullied by as he grows up.

However, it appears this is clearly not something a US-based couple considered when naming their child.

Unfortunately for the baby, the proud parents also shared the name on a huge birth announcement sign – and people were horrified and hysterical.

The sign read: “Welcome to the world Annaly, 7 pounds 10 ounces.”

According to nicebabyname.comAnnaly is an Irish surname and its variation of the female name Annaleigh, which means “light” or “grace”.

The website said: “It’s the perfect choice for parents looking for a unique and timeless name for their daughter.”

However, despite the adorable meaning, people have pointed out that when you write the name, it instantly comes across as something quite rude.

One person joked: “It’s not the traditional way to give birth, but I guess to each their own!”

Someone laughed: “I’ve never heard of a baby being born like this before…”

A third joked: “This is my other daughter Orally.”

This baby doesn’t have a fighting chance,’ trolls say as mom-to-be, 63, films chaotic gender reveal with husband, 26

One social media user responded: “You’re joking, but I’ve 100% seen the name ‘Oralee’ before.

”I think people were trying to choose ‘Aurelie’.”

Several were also worried about the child’s future, saying the girl would be subjected to brutal ridicule from her peers.

“That poor boy is going to be bullied so mercilessly…”

Are unique baby names worth it?

The Fabulous deputy editor reveals the turmoil she faced with her own name growing up.

When I was a kid, all I wanted was one of those personalized keychains with my name on it.

But no joy, the closest I could find was Rosie, Joseph (not very good for a girl) and Joanne.

Josie is short for Josephine, which is a French name, and I managed to reach my 20s without ever meeting anyone who shared it.

When I try to introduce myself to people, I get all sorts of random things – like Tracey and Stacey – which can be really annoying.

Although I’ve come into contact with a few Josies over the past year – there seem to be a few of us around my age – it’s still a much rarer name than most of my friends.

Overall I don’t mind it, at least it’s not rude or poorly written.

And that means I can get away with ‘doing a Cheryl’ and just referring to myself as Josie.

I’m getting married this year and some friends are shocked that I’m changing my surname, as it’s not seen as very cool or feminist to do so these days, but I explain to them that I’m not as attached to Griffiths as I always said’ hi, it’s Josie’ when calling a friend.

I think it’s good to be unique and I will definitely try to replicate that when naming my own children.

It’s the rude names you have to watch out for, so after nine years as a lifestyle journalist, I’ll definitely avoid them.

Another said the baby was already “doomed”, while another person dubbed the choice a “hate crime”.

However, someone was struggling to see the problem with the name, which they said would be pronounced “Anna Lee.”

The person: “What’s wrong with Anna Lee?”

One Redditor replied: “Anna Lee has the same problem. Anna Lee. Annalee. Anally.”
