A NEW mother has been viciously mocked for her eccentric choice of baby name.

Jordan Kennett, who gave birth to a baby boy in April, went viral after revealing the boy’s name.

And it turns out that she even chose her nickname the DAY she found out she was pregnant.

The spring baby was her second child, with mother-of-two Jordan already having a two-year-old son.

When she found out she was pregnant for the second time, she knew she wanted to honor her father with the baby’s name.

“We kept my son’s name a secret until the day he was born,” Jordan shared on TikTok.

“But we knew from day one that we were naming it after the most deserving person in the world.”

The boy was named Callahan Larry after his grandfather.

“My dad was blessed with four girls, so it’s really special to have a grandson,” Jordan explained.

However, her choice of name sparked a lot of interest on social media… and not everything was positive.

“Callahan Larry looks like a SpongeBob character,” said one reviewer.

“These people nowadays give their children any name,” echoed another.

“It’s a terrible name.

“It looks very cartoony.”

Garold Gareth “Gary” Wilso, Jr. is SpongeBob SquarePants’ pet sea snail, who appears regularly on the animated show and can only say “meow.”

Viewers of Jordan’s video thought his son’s name reminded him of the snail Gary – and some even warned that it could lead to people “meowing” at him.

Names banned in the UK

The UK has no law restricting names, but names that contain obscenities, numerals, misleading titles or are impossible to pronounce are likely to be rejected when registering a child.

“Poor kid,” mom Stephanie Bradley commented on the viral video.

“My ex-husband insisted on our son’s middle name in honor of his father, who was Gary.

“My sisters “meowed” at me throughout my pregnancy, like SpongeBob’s snail.”

Jordan’s video has had an impressive 8.4 MILLION views to date, with over 2,000 people taking to the comments to weigh in.

Some viewers reacted positively to the unorthodox name and dubbed it a “touching” gesture for his father.

“This is so touching,” praised one.

“I love this,” another smiled. “There is so much joy.”
