I kicked out my husband after his friend called me a ‘disgusting fat turkey’ – we shared a child but my marriage ended

A MARRIAGE is about to end after a man failed to defend his wife.

His wife may never forgive him for the way he reacted when his friend called her “disgusting” and a “fat turkey.”

Editor No experience7433 shared the story in a post on the social media platform.

She explained that she and her husband went to dinner at his friend’s house, saying she only met him a few times.

Sitting at the table with their 10-month-old son on his lap, her husband shared photos from the wedding, during which she was pregnant.

“I was 37 weeks pregnant and had gained 35 pounds at that time,” she recalled.

“Friend looks at a photo and says, ‘Gross, what happened to you? Your face is so fat. You look like a fat turkey.'”

She tried to explain what happens to a woman’s body during pregnancy, without success.

“He wasn’t interested in listening and just kept laughing and repeating similar insults,” she said.

“I looked at my husband and he just laughed along with me.”

Defeated, the wife said she put her son to bed and cried herself to sleep that night.

The Reddit user explained that she was more upset because her husband didn’t defend her than because of her friend’s words.

“What I needed at that time was just something my husband could provide,” she said.

She insisted that she wanted her husband to respond peacefully, with enough courage to defend her.

“I just needed him to say, ‘I thought you looked beautiful on our wedding day, honey.’

“I would have said, ‘Thank you,’ and I would have laughed and we would have moved on with our night.

“I needed to feel like a team, like he had my back. I don’t care about other people’s opinions of me, I care about my husband’s.”

OUT OF SIGHT

After not receiving the emotional support she needed from her husband, she decided that more drastic measures were necessary and kicked him out.

“My husband is out of the house and I feel like my marriage is over,” she said.

In another update, she said he currently lives at a friend’s house.

“But they have a family, so I don’t know how long this will last,” she explained. I don’t know his plan. My parents are taking care of our communication.”

She added that her parents encouraged her to take a few days to calm down and reflect.

“For the sake of my son I will do this, but for now I don’t want to continue this marriage,” she said.

Many Redditors sided with her and congratulated her for “standing up for herself” in the comments section.
