When they pulled up the carpet, they found diamond parquet flooring, in “perfect condition”.

The floor extended all the way down the hall into the living room.

Josh, 37, and Emily, 38, rushed to call a flooring specialist, who estimated the value at between £20 and £25,000.

The pair shared their incredible discovery to TikTok, and the video has racked up an impressive 2.6 million views.

“This was the moment we first saw the floor,” Josh said.

In the video, Josh can be seen pulling up layers of carpet, before he and Emily let go audible sighs.

“Oh my God,” Josh said.

“We saw a little corner when we visited the house, but when we discovered that it was diamond parquet in perfect condition, we were amazed.

“A flooring expert came to take a look at it and he told us it’s one of the best types of oak he’s ever seen and is in excellent condition.
