On Reddit, the woman revealed that her friend, who is five months pregnant, invited all of her friends to help her think of baby names.

However, all the women were left speechless after the mother-to-be revealed her favorite name: Chlamydia.

To the women’s confusion, she revealed that she had liked the name since studying Greek mythology at school.

After a while, the Reddit poster realized that she had confused the name with Clytemnestra, wife of King Agamemnon.

The woman pointed out her friend’s mistake, but she refused to believe her.

After the woman Googled the answer, she said the mom-to-be became strange and quiet.

“The mood for the rest of our time together kind of soured,” she said.

When she returned home, the woman’s pregnant friend began bombarding her with angry text messages and criticizing her for “embarrassing her in front of everyone.”

The woman said: “I ignored the message because she was being kind of stupid.

“A simple Google search before getting so attached to the name would have solved the problem before it existed.”

I’m a baby name pro – but trolls always come after me because of MY ugly name, I know it’s bad, that’s why I want to help others

She added that she doesn’t think she has anything to apologize for, as things would have been much worse if she hadn’t said anything and the baby had been named after an STD.

Reddit users rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts, with many people rushing to the woman’s defense.

One person said: “If she’s old enough to be pregnant, she should be old enough to know what chlamydia is.

“She embarrassed herself.”

A second person said: “You did her a favor by correcting her when she did.

“It also appears that you didn’t do it in a condescending or harsh manner, she simply refused to accept the truth until you showed proof.”

A third person said: “You can’t apologize for her stupidity.

“Thank God you corrected her.

“The poor kid will probably end up with a ridiculous name anyway, but at least not after an STD.”
